Its about responsibility, do you need the government to regulate your habits or can you manage without the government telling you what is right or wrong. I'm guessing like me you did some stupid things in your life and you learned by your mistakes did you not, you learned because you failed or because your actions had consequences, you either learned not to do it again or learned how to do it right.

RESPONSIBILITY and CONSEQUENCES are a personal choice...agreed! However, and again....this was ALL tried in the 60's and 70's pot head hippie generation. That generation gave birth to abortion, social programs etc....that continue today. And that movement also originated from the libertarians.

So those who think the hippie generation made a positive impact on this nation....they should be supporting the Ron Paul movement.

Of course had that storm in the Rotterdam area yesterday turned into a tornado and wiped out
Henry's home, his roads, his place of employment, his bridges, his electric and gas service, his
schools, his food supply his fire and police protection...
His hospital gone in the storm and poor Henry has a broken leg... To Bad Henry... You should have made
good decisions!!!

First of all a responsible homeowner buys homeowners insurance in case of a disaster, if you live in a flood prone area, you buy flood
insurance etc.

And as far as food, water etc the Red Cross relies on PRIVATE donations to help in disasters. Millions of dollars are raised not only by
private donations but by concerts etc for disaster relief victims.

When you rely on the government as with Katrina in New Orleans, look at the mess they made out of that. Mobile homes that never got
there, stockpiles of food and water that SAT in warehouses ..............

As far as food stamps and Medicaid, I am repeatedly asked why I don't apply as my income qualifies and again I tell them because I
may not beable to pay my doctor bills right away, but the majority at least 90 percent are happy with monthly payments. I had to go to
the ER twice last year and had bills from the hospital, pulmonologist, radiologist, cardiologist, ambulance,  primary dr. etc. and with
monthly payments have all paid off except for two.

I'm not saying some people don't need help, with unemployment so high there are families that need temporary assistance, what IS
wrong are the people who abuse these services and are on it for life and then it goes on to the next generation.

The economy is in the dumps, the job market sucks.

CHILD HUNGER FACTS

Good nutrition, particularly in the first three years of life, is important in establishing a good foundation that
has implications for a child’s future physical and mental health, academic achievement, and economic
productivity. Unfortunately, food insecurity is an obstacle that threatens that critical foundation.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 16.7 million children under 18 in the
United States live in households where they are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food
necessary for a healthy life.  Although food insecurity is harmful to any individual, it can be particularly
devastating among children due to their increased vulnerability and the potential for long-term
consequences.

Food Insecurity

16.7 million children lived in food insecure households in 2011.
20% or more of the child population in 36 states and D.C. lived in food insecure households in 2010.
The District of Columbia (30.7%) and Oregon (29.0%) had the highest rates of children in households
without consistent access to food.
In 2010, the top five states with the highest rate of food insecure children under 18 are the District
of Columbia, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, & Florida.
In 2010, the top five states with the lowest rate of food insecure children under 18 are North Dakota,
New Hampshire, Virginia, Minnesota, & Massachusetts.

Ron & Mini Me Paul's solution to this problem?
Those infants and kids should make "GOOD DECISIONS!"

So the already gigantic federal government didn't already correct this?  These are your statistic to attack Paul?

$15 Trillion spent in the "war on poverty" and it seems as if  only the richest 1% have benefited from it.  I guess in politics, that's proof these government programs work.

Too funny box, you provide proof that the huge government entitlement programs that have been created over the past 70 years have been a complete failure(a failure for those they say they help at least.  Not for the corporate food manufacturers like General Mills and the rest in the corporate food industry. )

What "Bad Decision" Henry???

What "Bad Decision" did the 40 year old self employed cancer patient make???
He's been out of work for 4 years battling cancer, his business has folded, and he has no health
insurance, with over 300,000 in hospital and doctor bills?
Did he make the "Bad Decision" of GETTING CANCER???  What "Bad Decision" did his wife and kids make???
Did his wife make the "Bad Decision" of sticking with her husband through his cancer?
Did his kids make the "Bad Decision" of being born to a guy who develops cancer?
Do his kids quit high school to help pay his dads bills?
Do his kids forget about college because they made the "Bad Decision" of being born to a Cancer
Patient Dad???

Ron Paul's America is full of "I Got Mine... Screw You!!!"

The hippie movement was all about free stuff not responsibility, when they seen free stuff didn't exist they then turned to force others into paying for them, that is what came out of them not responsibility and consequences.

Like I thought all talk, difference between you and me I would learn by my mistake, you would have the government at gunpoint take it from someone else to fix your mistake.

As I thought... Henry's description of "Bad Decisions" is the "Bad Decisions" of getting cancer.
"I Got Mine... Screw Everyone Else!"

And what bad decision got that person cancer, maybe it was bad luck or maybe he smoked a pack a day for 40 years. Even you stated people who made bad decisions like smoking shouldn't expect others to pay for them, so why is living on a known flood plain or tornado alley any different. As stated above people with responsibility get insurance, idiots expect others to help. And its not that I wouldn't help them but I sure as hell wouldn't let them make me help them.
