On Monday, May 6, a new bill is to be brought to the New York State Assembly floor which will allow licensed physicians to administer preventative medical care for sexually transmitted diseases, including vaccines to minors without their parent’s permission

Did your mother need to give her permission for your polio vaccine? Just wondering
I have no idea. My mother had us all vaccinated at our family doctor the minute it first became available. I don't know how bad polio hit this area, but in NYC in the 50s, you would be hard pressed to find a person that didn't know someone who's family was affected by polio.
People were lined up to receive those shots, and as a result, polio was pretty much eradicated.
They were school entry vaccines. Yes they had to give permission. If they schooled at home no vaccine neccessary.
School had already started. I told my mother to write me a note to get out of the shot- i begged- she made sure i got the shot. At least thats how it was in my school.

No, they were NOT the 'good old days'.
that's the crux of the matter....just like chix pox vaccinations....the numbers although everyone would love ZERO...don't add up
the stats can be made to mean/reflect anything....
but what a person experiences in life good/bad/indifferent is truth....again, are there stats as to the numbers of folks that fly on a VERY REGULAR basis(no 2 or 3 time year vacations)....
