Even though they raided the wrong house this man should of know better then trying to protect his property and family, good jobs cops you deserve that paid vacation they all got

By Vicki Brown

L E B A N O N, Tenn.

A 61-year-old man was shot to death by

police while his wife was handcuffed in another room during a drug

raid on the wrong house.

Police admitted their mistake, saying faulty information from a drug informant contributed to the death of John Adams Wednesday night. They intended to raid the home next door.

The two officers, 25-year-old Kyle Shedran and 24-year-old Greg Day, were placed on administrative leave with pay.

“They need to get rid of those men, boys with toys,” said Adams’ 70-year-old widow, Loraine.

John Adams was watching television when his wife heard pounding on the door. Police claim they identified themselves and wore police jackets. Loraine Adams said she had no indication the men were police.

“I thought it was a home invasion. I said ‘Baby, get your gun!,” she said, sitting amid friends and relatives gathered at her home to cook and prepare for Sunday’s funeral.

Resident Fired First

Police say her husband fired first with a sawed-off shotgun and they responded. He was shot at least three times and died later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Loraine Adams said she was handcuffed and thrown to her knees in another room when the shooting began.

“I said, ‘Y’all have got the wrong person, you’ve got the wrong place. What are you looking for?“‘

“We did the best surveillance we could do, and a mistake was made,” Lebanon Police Chief Billy Weeks said. “It’s a very severe mistake, a costly mistake. It makes us look at our own policies and procedures to make sure this never occurs again.” He said, however, the two policemen were not at fault.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating. NAACP officials said they are monitoring the case. Adams was black. The two policemen are white.

Family members did not consider race a factor and Weeks agreed, but said the shooting will be “a major setback” for police relations with the black community.

“We know that, we hope to do everything we can to heal it,” Weeks said.

Johnny Crudup, a local NAACP official, said the organization wanted to make sure and would investigate on its own.

Weeks said he has turned the search warrant and all other evidence over to the bureau of investigation and District Attorney General Tommy Thompson. A command officer must now review all search warrants.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

What this story PROVES, is if the citizen were unarmed, he'd still be alive today!!!
And
Probably be on his way to being a rich man after winning his lawsuit against the police!!!

But instead, HIS GUN GOT HIM KILLED.

How many people have been killed recently by the police entering the wrong house, shooting the occupants, killing the family dog, and terrorizing the children. Maybe it's time for the police to do some real investigating, locate the real drug pushers house, and use credible sources for their information.

The 'source' was probably a criminal cooperating with police for a lesser sentence.
The police made a mistake, but if they identified themselves and were wearing clearly marked
'police' labels...  the homeowner is in the wrong by shooting before he identified his target.

Had the homeowner not shot first or had he not owned a gun... he would be alive today.

No the police got him killed by being lazy scum who didn't do their own investigation, they took the word of probably some drugged out scumbag looking to score his next fix, oh you didn't know cops pay people with cash to snitch, well it happens in every city. The couple heard someone banging against their door it is natural to grab a gun if you feel like someone is breaking in, but to you he shouldn't of had a gun for protection.

The jerk fired on police... GunHuggers think that it's perfectly OK to shoot at anyone they perceive to
be a threat, without first identifying their target.
The person at the door could have been a neighbor, a person injured and looking for assistance, or
a teen playing a joke.  OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN A HOME INVASION.
Either way... you don't shoot until you identify your target... Unless you're a paranoid GunHugger of
course.

Yes he should of done what you would have done and greet them on his knees with his mouth open

Had the man identified his target, he would still be alive today.

By Henry's own admission, if you are being fired at, you do have the right to return fire to save
your life.  No one fired at the homeowner, but he fired at the police.  The police returned fire.

Again, what no one here will admit... if the homeowner were unarmed, or at least identified his
target before shooting,  he would still be alive.

You don't know what the man seen or what he heard, for all you know he might of just seen two figures with guns and reacted. He might of not even fired the 1st round, its 2 cops word to that of a dead man who can not speak his side of the story. One thing we do know is the cops made the mistake of raiding the wrong house, who has more of a reason to lie about what happened to save their own asses.

The mundane must WAIT until they're fired upon?  Sh!t, that really puts ya at a disadvantage.

I guess the criminal is too stupid to lie and identify themselves as police.  Oh yeah, impersonating an officer is illegal so a criminal would never do such a thing.

It appears that our board GunHuggers agree that you should shoot first then identify your target after.
No surprise there!

Police officers in Indiana are upset over a new law allowing residents to use deadly force against public servants, including law enforcement officers, who unlawfully enter their homes. It was signed by Republican Governor Mitch Daniels in March.

The first of its kind in the United States, the law was adopted after the state Supreme Court went too far in one of its rulings last year, according to supporters. The case in question involved a man who assaulted an officer during a domestic violence call. The court ruled that there was “no right to reasonably resist unlawful entry by police officers.”  http://www.allgov.com/news/top.....p;

Maybe the guy was taking Bidens advice and tried to scare them off by going outside and shooting off a round. Maybe the guy should have shot through the door instead.

The guy should have gotten into the fetal position under the kitchen table.  Always cower and hide.  It would be best if the invader can hear you crying while you are hiding, that way they know you are totally submissive.  Never shoot a home invader until they get a shot off first.  You must always assume the person pounding on your door is the friendly police man checking up on your safety.
