Ban backpacks in public.  A persons right to carry backpacks in public does not trump my rights of feeling safe.  That damn NBPA!!!  They have people's irrational fear on their hands.

first it's difficult to grow your own food
then it's a water supply issue
then it's an energy supply issue
then it's a protection issue
now you can't carry your sh!t with you

eventually we will only be allowed to wear government issued clothing from walmart and taco bell with be the only restaurant

Yup these cops are pansies, fearing every little thing. In Iraq they used to stuff road kill with explosives, I wonder if cops will start to send in the bomb squad for all dead deer they now spot on the side of the road. Detaining people for 5 hours over a backpack, retards is right.

I suspect that ordinary pots and pans over 6 quarts may also have to be banned if they have a black detachable handle, along with the pressure cookers. Metal shavings may also come under scrutiny. No one needs metal shavings.

Graham, Cicero & Henry, if they had attended the Boston Marathon, would now be picking pieces of back pack
and pressure cooker out of their severed limbs, as they condemned the police for failing to take proper
security precautions.

They cry like babies about the police, about paying taxes for police and about paying benefits for
the police.
One policeman was killed and several were seriously injured, serving the public in MA this
past week... what did Graham, Cicero or Henry do to serve their country???
All they did was whine like little babies!

No, we voted for the guy who was actually FOR fighting ISLAMIC terror. The nation chooses to have a national policy of open immigration from turd-world countries, voting without ID, and allowing terror cell members unfettered money and programs to meet their living expenses while they train and build bombs to attack us. I actually support deportation and arrest of terror cell members, and not the policies of this criminal government which is to target, harass, intimidate and scapegoat Americans for their Second Amendment rights, their political affiliation and their white color. I prefer to target the real terrorists, not grandmas and little girls with prosthetic limbs, and 5th generation Americans who belong to a local shooting club. I prefer to looks at MUSLIMS who are proudly ANTI-AMERICAN, instead of paying their expenses so they can build those Boston Bombs and travel abroad to terror camps. YOU on the other hand want to make CERTAIN no one questions them because of their "diverse" backgrounds. Liberals are insane and hate America for its freedoms as much as terrorists do. When we ake up to that we may be safer.

If I had been at the boston marathon I would be picking shrapnel out of my limbs, after paying tens of thousand in taxes for security, after giving up my right to privacy and protection of the 4th Amendment with the passage of the Patriot Act.  And after all that, I will still have no privacy, still pay thousands in taxes, AND HAVE A LIFETIME OF SCARS AS PROOF THAT IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING.

What did I do, I paid for their job which they failed at, they didn't protect nobody. Oh wow they caught him after the crime what's new, that didn't help anyone that day. Nope I rely on myself for my own safety and security, only fools rely on others for it. And what did it cost to catch him, how many soldiers, police, agents did they have there, had to be well over 2,000, what did they do for this one teenager, they stopped everyone for leaving their house and infringed on more rights that day then the actual terrorist. I'm not kissing the cops a** who failed at their jobs, you can if you want.

I'm curious....you rely on yourself for your own safety and security....how would you have done that if you were at the finish line to ensure your safety and that you were not a victim? How would you have secured your safety other than not being there?

You make points about the activities "after" the bombing....so what should have been done different "AFTER" the bombing and why?

Not trying to get into an argument, just asking. Since you made your statements, I'm wondering how you would have handled it.
Honestly, they didn't do it perfect, but not sure there is a perfect in this situation or ones like it. I find it interesting that you point out
how much manpower was devoted to this and how inconvenienced people were....yet if they didn't throw manpower at it and people were not inconvenienced and more dies, there are those on this forum that would be screaming because they didn't devote manpower and didn't
protect the public. Catch 22 on this forum is the norm...............

Some things nobody can stop, just like a driver can fly through a red light and kill me. Difference is I don't get paid by acting as if I do protect others from crimes, to many think cops actually protect, that's not true.

A typical weekend in Detroit over a dozen people are killed, why aren't they sending out thousands of militarized police to go after those criminals. The aftermath was a joke and pretty much a publicity stunt, they had to put on the show and show how much force they can put into 1 case. There is only 2 cases where they will go to this extreme, 1 if it is highly publicized 2 if a law enforcement officer was killed, they would never spend that much resources on a typical murder or multiple murder investigation. I'm happy they got him but shutting down a city and searching houses without warrants doesn't make it ok.

Well, you really didn't say how you would have handled it differently to get
the desired result, but that's okay......
like I said, there is no perfect solution to situations like that.

I will comment however that trying to go after a dozen separate killings
is not an equivalent to trying to address an act of terror that, had it
gone as they probably hoped it would, results would have been many
more killed and injured for life.  They can't be handled the same
because they just aren't the same.....fact!
Also, major man hunt began "before" a law enforcement officer
was killed!
