California police chief: The idea that a gun is a defensive weapon is a ‘myth’

California Police Chief Ken James insisted earlier this month that the idea of a gun as a “defensive weapon” was a “myth.” Speaking at a news conference about gun control with California lawmakers, James explained that he was concerned with the amount of weapons owned by American citizens.

“One issue that always boggles my mind is that the idea that a gun is a defensive weapon,” James said. “That is a myth. A gun is not a defensive weapon.”

James is the Police Chief of Emeryville, California and the Police Chief Association’s Firearms Committee Chairman.

“A gun is an offensive weapon used to intimidate and show power,” he asserted, explaining to the audience that police officers don’t carry weapons to defend themselves, but to do their job in a “safe and effective manner.”

Gee box, this police chief seems to feel as if the whole purpose of a police officer having a gun is to "intimidate and show power".(which you thought I was crazy for even suggesting)  Intimidate and show power over whom?  He didn't even mince words, he was actually honest.  That's not the posture of a domestic peace officer but rather an occupying force.

I remember last November I got a couple deer to surrender when I intimidated them with my gun.

Guns are for killing or to practice killing. Sure people shoot at other crap, but for most people, guns are for killing.

Animals won't hunt themselves.

Most civilian guns are sold to hunt and kill animals.

Some civilian guns are also sold with the intent of killing people as the need may arise.

Most police guns are sold to hunt and kill people.

Most military guns are sold to hunt and kill people.

If you buy a gun to intimidate people, you are an idiot or a criminal.

A gun is a tool.

Not a "power over others enhancement device."

Cops use guns improperly every day.

They do in fact use them to intimidate people and force compliance to orders.

So do Da Crypts and Da Bloodz. Their mirror images.

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
