It would make more sense to put a new public safety/justice court on the WEST side of town  -- Duanesburg Road or Burdeck Street.   Eventually, we will have a consolidated police department and consolidated justice courts  and putting the new facility in that area would better serve  the western part of Schenectady County.

We have Draper School sitting there doing nothing. It's gotta be in better shape than where they are now.

It could be done for a million or 2.

I am not sure what the condition of the old Draper school building is.  The site is certainly big enough.  I am not sure about  the price tag that you are suggesting  a million or two ... since 9-11 federal and state standards for public safety buildings have been greatly tightened/increased which is why the cost has gone up so much.

Something needs to be done with the Draper building fix it up and use it or tear it down and build something new --- but to just leave it standing empty is ridiculous.

I have to agree that the $1-2 million price tag is not going to get you much construction in today's world. I was told many years ago, that it is far more cost effective to build new rather than rehab. Just my two cents.

Buicko said Galesi’s engineers are now trying to find ...

“We want to pay our fair share,” he said. “We don’t want to subsidize things we don’t use.”

Regarding Galesi, one of McC's biggest cronies:

They (Galesi) certainly don't want to pay their fair share in the city!!!!

They (Galesi)  certainly want city homeowners to subsidize things they (the city homeowners and residents) don't use.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
