Actually, IMO is that it's already too late for the planet.  Many scientists worry that we are past
the tipping point where our actions can change the future demise of most of the planet.
In this case, the Climate Deniers have already won... and because of it, the earth lost.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

What a convenient opinion to have.. it allows you to continue to operate your fossil fuel toys without guilt...

Funny how Tbird values HIS "Opinion", as if it were the word of God, but is miffed when someone else
has a differing OPINION... then it's "MISLEADING".

When Tbird posts about Climate Change... it is "HIS OPINION", and "HIS OPINION" (MISLEADING AS IT IS)
is in direct opposition with the vast majority of SCIENTISTS.
Not only that, Tbird's "OPINION" is a minority view in America.  Most Americans agree with Climate
Change SCIENCE.
So, in TBIRD's world, the Scientists... the leading experts in the field are MISLEADING, while Conservative
Politicians are "telling the truth"!   Pretty lame huh!

Just over half of registered voters (51%) think that global warming is caused mostly by human activities.
A large majority of Democrats (69%, and 75% of liberal Democrats) and nearly half (47%) of liberal and
moderate Republicans,
but only 22% of conservative Republicans think global warming is mostly human-caused.

Voters are by nature stupid people.  They spend their life looking toward an "authority" to explain the world around them.  These polls are a reflection of propaganda and manufactured consent.

I can show you polls of a majority of voters that believed Iraq had WMD's.  I can show you polls that a majority of voters believe ISIS is a threat to their safety.  I can show you a poll of a majority of voter believe aliens exist.  Citing public opinion polls is probably the weakest statistic to show support for a scientific argument.  The American public is probably the most ignorant society with no capacity for critical thinking.  If you scare them enough with invisible monsters, they will believe anything that you tell them to keep them safe.

According to the new survey, 50 percent of Americans think that there is some form of life on other planets, while only 17 percent think that there's not. Another 33 percent said they aren't sure.

Quoted Text
The most recent Gallup Poll data suggest that well over 8 out of 10 Americans believe it is likely that Iraq did in fact have weapons of mass destruction and the facilities to create such weapons before the war, and that Iraq was also trying to develop nuclear weapons prior to the war

Quoted Text
Most Americans now believe ISIS poses at least a somewhat serious threat to the United States and Americans are growing slightly more hawkish on the U.S. strategy to combat the militant group, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Monday

A new Harris Poll finds that a strong majority (74 percent) of U.S. adults say they believe in God

8 Reasons Why Rome Fell
By Evan Andrews

In the late fourth century, the Western Roman Empire crumbled after a nearly 500-year run as the world’s greatest superpower. Historians have blamed the collapse on hundreds of different factors ranging from military failures and crippling taxation to natural disasters and even climate change.

Again, Tbird makes his ASSumptions!

You have no idea of my lifestyle or how much I use/waste/conserve our environment.  Your assumptions
about energy consumption are just that... assumptions.

I recycle or reuse everything.  I compost most of my kitchen waste and I work at recycling everything.  I own
a energy star house (with few exceptions).

Which of these would create a larger carbon footprint?
A day skiing, an afternoon on my jetski on the island or a hot afternoon bowling?
Do you know?  You may be surprised at the answers.

I do what I can to conserve and I do what I can to promote a wise use of our resources.
Do you?

No assumptions at all...You did it to yourself, when you were on another thread bragging about how you spend time on your jet ski, your sled, your ATV....unless they're solar powered, they are wasting fossil fuels and sending CO2 into the air...and unless you are running all 4 strokes, they are also spewing oil and other contaminants  as well..
As far as what wastes more energy... the bowling alley and Ski businesses are open whether you use them or not... if you don't use your fossil fuel toys, they emit NOTHING.

Speaking of assumptions, do you still think I'm a climate change denier?

As far as what I do? whatever it is, it's not hypocritical because I'm not on here posting about evil climate change deniers while riding polluting toys that are absolutely unnecessary.

There... I bet Tbird feels better now that he got all that off his chest!

I drive to the bowling alley... the bowling alley is air conditioned, if I use it or  not.... so even though
I'm not, or possibly no one is bowling... the building is air conditioned.
When on my sled, or in my car, or on my Jet Ski, (as I was this afternoon) I am USING, not WASTING
energy.
Unless you consider every use of energy except those absolutely necessary for life, to be a waste...
then you'd better get rid of your TV, your computer, most of your lights and air conditioning
etc...
BTW, most of the winter if I am by myself, the thermostat is set at 60-62.  How about you?  Do you
waste energy with your thermostat set at 70 or even higher?

You can try to justify and rationalize it all you want, but the bottom line is you are using energy via fossil fuels STRICTLY in a recreational sense....not only are you using energy unnecessarily, even MORE important and a direct contributor to climate change, you ARE putting more hydrocarbons in the air that you do not need to... that is indisputable...
At present, you can do this legally and you have the right to do so.
But as far as your posts on climate change,. they are posted by someone who talks the talk, but refuses to walk the walk.all your hang wringing doesn't mash with your actions.
I can respect the people that sound the alarm about climate change AND do everything in their power, in EVERY sense, to alleviate its effects.
You, on the other hand, clearly are not. You do only what is convenient for you, just like the limousine liberals.

BTW, I have a computerized thermostat that lowers the temp to 55 during the winter when I am not in the house, which is on average 10 hours a day, and raises to no higher than 64 when I am...
