Please provide the poll results showing 22% of all Americans identify with Republicans.

Keep in mind that 22% of all Americans is over 69 million.

Well there are 315 million citizens. 74 million registered Democrats.

L4L, don't you get it?  They have to over-state the participation in the fraudulent selection process to run the government.  

If you look at your original statistics, it shows how many Americans are not affiliated with either major party. The number of registered voters outside of the two major parties is greater than the number of registered republicans or registered democrats.  But since they don't have the corporate funding and the two parties make the rules, their choice is either a major party candidate or not voting at all.

I would welcome a reasonable alternative to the 2 party system.  So far only a few have ever managed to break
the 1% mark... and Ron Paul isn't one of them.  

If the Republican party doesn't change, it will be as relevant as the Paul campaign was... lots of noise,
but no real accomplishments.  At best the fringe candidates like Paul can influence the other two
parties to bend slightly.

The Republican party used to stand for something... They were fiscal conservatives and a balancing
influence on politicians.  Today they are either going to change into a relevant force, or join Ron Paul
on the sidelines.

I would prefer a strong opposition to the Democrat party from any "reasonable" group... Republican
Independent, Libertarian etc...
Politics is always in flux and with out a strong opponent to keep them honest, the Dems will suffer.

For the vast majority of Americans... there is a huge difference between the Dems and the Reps.

Follow your fringe candidate if you want to Henry... extremists will always have a certain following,
