Miami - After a woman finds her mother dead in Florida,
police say a 78-year-old man has confessed
that he became so enraged when his wife refused to cook him a hamburger that he stabbed her to death.Bartolo Gelsomino, 78-years-old of Kendall Florida is alleged to have confessed to stabbing his wife,
71-year-old Ana Gelsomino to death in the couple's home. The Sicilian native is now facing second
degree murder charges.
The Gelsomino's daughter found her mortally wounded mother at the couple's home on the corner
of 146th Street and 99th Avenue in Kendall, according to UPI. As Miami-Dade Police officers combed
the home for evidence Bartolo Gelsomino showed up, the officers on the scene quickly noticed two
apparent blood stains on the retiree's shirt. Their suspicions grew when Bartolo and Ana Gelsomino's
son told Homicide Detectives that the 78-year-old who only speaks Sicilian, had a history of abusing
his wife.
Homicide Detectives quickly found an Italian speaking officer, and after being questioned about his
wife's death, according to the Miami Herald Bartolo went on to allegedly give a confession. Police
reports state that Bartolo Gelsomino led the police officers to a trash bin at a nearby warehouse
where he had tried to dispose of the alleged murder weapon as well as other evidence. The
78-year-old is also said to have told police that he tried to stage the scene to make it look like
a burglary turn homicide.

refused to cook him a hamburger. As the argument escalated he told detectives he retrieved a
knife from the couples kitchen and went on to stab his wife to death.Bartolo Gelsomino is currently housed in the Miami-Dade County Jail, and will face an arraignment
