Taking into account the skyrocketing sales of AR-15s you would think that there
would have been at least one person shot with one.

But no, there were no crimes committed with an AR-15.

Hundreds of stabbings, hammer attacks, strangulations, gasoline deaths and various others,
but not a single crime committed with an AR-15.

When the FACTS don't match the agenda... JUST MAKE UP NEW FACTS.
Really L4Life... why lie about such a serious subject, and why just make up FACTS?

~ Newtown school shooting Dec 14, 2012.
10 days later...
~ On Dec. 24, in Webster, New York, an ex-con named William Spengler set
fire to his house and then shot and killed two responding firefighters before
taking his own life. He shot them with a Bushmaster AR-15-semi-automatic
rifle—the same weapon that Adam Lanza used 10 days earlier when he shot
and killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary.

Pathetic!

NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE!

Is there any purpose for an AR-15 other than killing a bunch of people?

I've never seen a hunter or skeet shooter use one?

Some people really do hunt with an ar-15 but as required by law they can't have anything larger than a 5 shot clip for hunting.

big deal....more humans die from chicken pox/influenza/hepatitis etc etc......

this gun thing is going to get attached to the healthcare sh!t....especially when the MD's are required to have conversations
with patients about gun safety and somewhere on this site there was a thread about MD's wanting to refuse to treat
patients with guns in their homes....

REALLY? like MD's refusing to give abortions?

letting those we think are 'more reasonable' than ourselves (especially those who control the switches) to cross this line
will reap  it.....

it won't be box and friends because they will be dead.....interesting considering they are of the 'freedom generation'.......

WOW!!!

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Yes there is, many people use them in shoting competitions across the country, as said many people use them for hunting and they now come in all types of camo. On the other side yes they are good at taking a life, that is why our military uses the same style weapon. Think of it this way we want our military to have the best tool to do their job to protect our country. Our cops use them and their excuse is to have to best tool for the job to protect the city, shouldn't the citizen have the best tool for the job to be able to protect themself and their family.

Skeet shooting is done by shotguns not rifles but as I said they're popular for shooting matches and competitions

Seems to give all reasonable guns a bad name.

The AR-15 is the media's evil gun of the month, after the North Hollywood shootout it was the AK-47 clones that were under attack. After VT it was pistols that were under attack, point being the left needs something to attack because the fact is they hate all guns, they can't ban all guns at once but they will try to chip away at what guns can be owned. This is not for our safety but to reach there goal of eliminating the 2nd amendment as a whole over time.

The lame @ss excuses on this board are really amazing!

Senders... "BIG DEAL"
Yea Senders... it IS a big deal.  If that bullet went through one of your kids, you wouldn't be posting "big deal".

Henry... "Is there any purpose for an AR-15 other than killing a bunch of people? ."
The answer is of course, yes.  But they were designed for the purpose of killing a large group of people in
a short amount of time.

"The AR-15 is the media's evil gun of the month, after the North Hollywood shootout it was the
AK-47 clones that were under attack."

Both are assualt weapons and both are the subject of 'assualt weapon bans'.

L4Life... who, after lying about the number of assualt weapon killings... then comes back with ... what?
~  I made a mistake?
No.
~  Does he say that his information was flawed?
Nope.
What is his excuse for making up FACTS to fit his agenda??? What is his response???
"So the count is up to 1.  As the country of little cowardly girls continue to tremble."
The family of those firemen who were killed... are they your 'little cowardly girls trembling'???
Are their families your "cowardly little girls trembling"?
Do you think their parents, their friends, their kids are comforted to know that their deaths, are counted by
people like you as:
"So the count is up to 1."  You're a real human  being L4Life.  "The count is up to 1"... I'm amazed!

A Better Rotterdam seems to be the only reasonable post of the bunch, and makes a lot of sense with his/her
post that hits the nail right on the head...
"Is there any purpose for an AR-15 other than killing a bunch of people?
"Seems to give all reasonable guns a bad name."
You can hunt with an AR15, but that wasn't their designers purpose.  There is no advantage to using an assualt
rifle to hunt over a dozen other rifles of the same caliber.

The designed purpose of assualt weapons is to kill a large group of people in a short time... and they are very
good at it.

"Seems to give all reasonable guns a bad name." Exactly!

I will only answer what you said to me, yes the gun was made to kill and to do it quite well and that is why many Americans own one. Many Americans want the best tool for the job when it comes to protecting their family, you want to deny citizens the best tool for the job for protecting themself. Your argument that it is to deadly, are you fcking stupid that is the reason for owning a self defense gun to stop the threat as quickly as possible I posted a story of a women who shot a guy 5 times before running out of ammo, he suffered punctured lungs, a hit to other vital organs and he still got up and managed to escape the house and drive away. That lady is very lucky the man didn't keep on coming for her or even worse have another person with him, she and her kids would have been killed if that was the case. After what took place I will bet money that lady will go out and get a gun that holds more than 6 bullets. Home invasions where multiple people are involved are on the rise and you want to limit how many bullets a gun holds, you are out of your mind. God forbid a gang of 3 or 4 people ever invade your home because you will be screwed, I wonder how long you and your family will last if 4 people kicked in your door and you had to wait 15 minutes for the cops to come

Hmmmmm...Killing large groups of people in a short time?  And notice the Washington Times reporting.  It says they are arming the officers with RIFLES and not ASSAULT RIFLES.  See how the clever media plays with words to emphasis and underemphasis.  An AR 15 in the hands of a government agent, just a mere rifle.  In the hands of a civilian, an assault rifle which is only meant for killing large amounts of people in a short period of time.
Quoted Text
Friday, May 9, 2008
The Washington Times reported Wednesday that the department is arming the officers with the rifles as part of a national trend to protect them from criminals with increasingly powerful weapons.

Assistant Chief Joshua Ederheimer said the department has spent the past year converting 500 AR-15 rifles from fully-automatic to semi-automatic and drafting training curriculum and policies governing the weapons.

Henry,
Your example of a woman who "hit a man 5 times before running out of ammo" is a good example.
And,
"You want "the best tool for the job for protecting them self."

In both cases, you want a larger caliber bullet.  The stopping power of a puny .223 in the AR15 put her
at an extreme disadvantage.
Henry... don't take my word for it... I went to a Gun Nut website and found the 'ideal' home protection
caliber:
(Below, the crazy gun nut recomendations)
"If you simply want to know the best defense load, go out and buy: 12 gauge, 2-3/4"
shell, 00 buckshot.
You shall live happily ever after, as this is the most effective man-stopping
firearm cartridge yet devised by man
. I recommend the Federal Classic (F127-00), Winchester
Super-X (X12RB5) or Remington Buckshot (SP12BK-5PK00) as the best double-ought buckshot
defense rounds.
(As for your example of the woman who hit her attacker with 5 rounds)
One of these rounds is virtually equal to a nine-round burst from a
submachine gun, with every round hitting."

(I rest my case! )

OK Henry... Now that you know the truth about AR15's for 'home defense'...
Take the word of "weapons experts" and abandon assualt weapons.
Leave the "Dark Side" young Skywalker... Step into the Light ... Join the FORCE in their
assualt weapon ban.

The woman in question was firing a 38 cal revolver which should have done the job if she hit the intruder in a vital place.
"The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he's staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver," Chapman told Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh.

The woman then shot him five times, but he survived, Chapman said. He said the woman ran out of bullets but threatened to shoot the intruder if he moved.

Henry wants  "the best tool for the job for protecting them self." Both the AR15 and her
.38 are inferior to a 12Ga shotgun with either slugs or buckshot.  If like Henry, she wanted the best tool
for  the job, she'd join the assualt weapon ban and buy a shotgun.

As posted at the GunNut website..."One of these rounds is virtually equal to a nine-round burst from a
