A bomb threat has been made against Harry S. Truman High School in Levittown for tomorrow, Jan. 3.

School administrators sent letters home to parents Wednesday informing them that district security was made aware of the threat this past weekend, which was written in the boy's locker room.

Truman principal James Moore told Patch that the threat was discovered in a boy's restroom used as a locker room by student athletes during a wrestling tournament this weekend.

"We are working with our district security and township authorities including law enforcement to secure our school," Moore stated in the letter, which is attached as a PDF to this article.

The investigation into the threat is ongoing, but Moore said that Jan. 3, 2013 was cited specifically although Truman not directly mentioned.

The school will be searched Wednesday evening and, following procedure, all doors will remain locked throughout the day -- all students and parents must enter the building through its main entrance.

School officials are requesting that students not carry back packs or bags to school Thursday, Jan. 3. In addition, students will not be permitted in the school prior to 6:45 a.m.

"We have and will continue to take these things seriously and take all necessary and proper precautions to insure the safety and security of our students, staff, and community," Moore said.
