Rep. Peter King (R-NY) "went to war with his Republican colleagues on Wednesday after leaders spiked a Hurricane Sandy relief bill, calling on New Yorkers to stop all donations to GOP House members".
Said King: "These Republicans have no problem finding New York when they're out raising millions of dollars. They're in New York all the time filling their pockets with money from New Yorkers. I'm saying right now, anyone from New York or New Jersey who contributes one penny to congressional Republicans is out of their minds. Because what they did last night was put a knife in the back of New Yorkers and New Jerseyans. It was an absolute disgrace."
He added: "As far as I'm concerned, I'm on my own. They're going to have to go a long way to get my vote on anything."

I never donated to a political party, I have donated to a campaign but that was it.

King, a republican, isn't asking not to donate to a party... he's asking not to donate to individual Republicans.

More than two months after hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses in the tristate area were destroyed or damaged by Hurricane Sandy, Republicans in the House of Representatives intentionally killed the $60 billion bill passed by the Senate by refusing to bring it to a vote on New Year’s Day.
Right-wing activist groups like Americans for Prosperity, the Club for Growth, and Heritage Action have all pressured congressional Republicans to vote against the bill.
A few items that are apparently more urgent than Hurricane Sandy relief, that Republicans passed: • Drywall safety • Frank Buckles WWI Memorial • Redesignate Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center and Hugh L. Dryden Test Range • Conveyance of certain property in Kotzebue, AK
These Republicans are a Disgrace. Holding hurricane Sandy victims hostage, while passing these trivial bills!

Lets look into the bill that the Dems and Reps pushed in the Senate: The mix of tax perks covering the next year, but with budget implications for the next two years includes everything from incentives for employers to hire veterans to incentives for employers to invest in mine safety. But it also includes these:
$430 million for Hollywood through “special expensing rules” to encourage TV and film production in the United States. Producers can expense up to $15 million of costs for their projects.
$331 million for railroads by allowing short-line and regional operators to claim a tax credit up to 50 percent of the cost to maintain tracks that they own or lease.
$222 million for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands through returned excise taxes collected by the federal government on rum produced in the islands and imported to the mainland.
$70 million for NASCAR by extending a “7-year cost recovery period for certain motorsports racing track facilities.”
$59 million for algae growers through tax credits to encourage production of “cellulosic biofuel” at up to $1.01 per gallon.
$4 million for electric motorcycle makers by expanding an existing green-energy tax credit for buyers of plug-in vehicles to include electric motorbikes.
I think I will double my contribution to my favorite Congressman -- Representative Chris Gibson.

Peter King, Congressman quid pro quo. This is an example of how our perverted republic now works. If you're a New Yorker and contribute to a congress person from Ohio and that person gets elected, that congress person is now supposed to take the money of his/her constituents that elected him and give it to the resident of New York and New Jersey.
