A cache of Los Angeles Police Department submachine guns and handguns was stolen last week from a secured building used by the department's SWAT unit, raising fears that the weapons, which police had altered to fire only blanks, could be converted back to lethal use, police officials confirmed.
The weapons, which include 21 MP-5 submachine guns and 12 large caliber handguns, were moved Wednesday night to a multistory building at 14th and San Pedro streets downtown and stored in a locked box on the building's first floor, said LAPD Deputy Chief Michael Downing.
Where are the resident "gun control" advocates? Are they not concerned about ALL of these weapons being unsecured and in the hands of criminals? I know we don't hear this stuff on the national news, but if you want to have an honest debate about gun control, shouldn't this even be considered? We're talking AR 15's, MP 5's, bulletproof vests, 6000 rounds of ammo, all stolen from the hero's in costumes. Not even a topic of debate.

Fully automatic mp5 submachine guns, I hope they weren't stolen by some drug gang. The anti-gun mayors in cities across the country try to hang law abiding citizens when their guns get stolen because they were't secured safely.
