It would be helpful Henry, if you first exercised this muscle:

I support their rights until they prove they're not worthy of such rights, innocent until proven guilty not guilty until the government says you are innocent.

Yea I know.
You support their right to buy an assault weapon and kill... once they are done killing, not before,
will you disarm them.
It's typical of GunHuggers.

The National Rifle Association spent between $1.5 million and $2.7 million on federal-level
lobbying efforts between 2001 and 2010, and an additional $7.2 million supporting candidates
during the 2010 election, according to Policymic. Gun manufacturers themselves have
contributed up to $38.9 million to the NRA since 2005.

The NRA Pushes Military-Style Weapons
Quoted Text
Faced with a dwindling generation of hunters, the gun industry has actively promoted
military-style weapons, according to Rolling Stone. While sales of hunting style firearms have
fallen to just a quarter of the total market, sales of assault rifles and handguns have surged.

THE GUY WHO speaks for 90% of the American people on Background Checks!

Liar.

90 percent of Americans were not polled.

90 percent of a certain group of Americans were polled.

That does not mean 90% of all Americans favor background checks.

Background checks already exist in most places.

Most people don't want more government regulation of anything.

It should have read that the 90% of the Dems approve background checks on all conservatives.

~ A Fox News poll conducted Jan. 15-17, 2013, of  registered voters. 91% of respondents
said they favor "requiring criminal background checks on all gun buyers, including those buying
at gun shows and private sales."

Just curious here, but wouldn't the intent of backgrounds checks actually align with your statement?
Background check would prove they are not worthy (if they have criminal history etc.)
Background check doesn't presume they are guilty, it validates guilt, right?
JUST ASKING !

No, it's a presumption of guilt.  It's a warrantless search.  Purchasing a gun isn't probable cause, just like buying a pressure cooker and a box of nails isn't probable cause.  Mandating that private business conduct warrantless searches isn't any less of a violation.  If that's the case, then everybody's history should be run for any reason.  Establishments that sell alcohol should require background checks on all customers before serving them.  If they have a DWI, they can be denied service.

It does presume guilt by making you prove your innocence, the government in any other case must prove you are guilty not the other way around. These checks will lead to people having to pass the governments ok list for anything in the future, no thanks .

To get married you need a birth certificate.  To be issued a driver's license, you need proof of age.
To get many licenses (plumbers, electricians, lawyer) you need valid proof of competency in that
field.  For a passport to travel abroad, you need at least 2 photo proof of identity.

And... if the GunHuggers pull their heads out of their butts... you will need a 'background check' to
purchase a gun.
It took a hundred years from the abolishment of slavery for actual freedom and equality to be signed into
law with the Civil Rights acts of the 60's... it may take a few more years for background checks to become
the law of the land.

Henry, let me address your response, since question was directed to your comment.
I fail to understand how if someone has a criminal record and that prevents them from buying a gun becuase of the background check,
how is that "presume guilt"? They ahve a record and have been convicted, so I don't understand why that would be presumed.
I understand the assumption of "future" but wihout seeing the details of the background checks being proposed, aren't we
assuming their invasivness and requiring the Government prove they are not?  Look, I think background checks are improtant and need
to be in-place and be managed/outlined intelligently.  Some controls have to be implemented.  Wil it stop all criminals from buying guns....NO.
Will it 100% guaruntee no future crimes with guns...NO!  I am not so naive to believe that.  But if done right and it does save some lives
and does keep the guns out of the hands of some of those that would commit murder, etc. becuase they are already convicted of crimes,
then isn't it at least worth taking a chance.  Soimething has to be done different than today.....not sweeping changes, but at least something.

So? All of them are semi-autos anyway.

Pro Tip: Most military grade weapons are illegal to own anyway either because they are full auto or select fire to full automatic.

So please show me a 'military style' assault weapon that is legal to purchase and fully automatic (bust fire weapons are considered fully automatic in the eyes of the law).

OK
A LEGAL GUN with a LEGAL BUMP STOCK. FULL AUTO, you pull the trigger once and it fires
until you release the trigger or the magazine is empty.

How about this one for around $350?

Watches video...

Strawman

The weapon that he used is a semi-automatic. If he used a device or not, it still doesn't change the blinding fact that the trigger has to be depressed and released in order to set and fire another round.

If you want to make an issue about bump stops, that's fine but this isn't an issue about that.

Now again I'll ask you, please show me a 'military style' assault weapon that is legal to purchase and fully automatic.
