Schools have changed, and interpersonal relationships between students have changed.
Kids all want to go Rambo on the bully of the month. Rambo-ism is heroic in the new school culture.
If you can't change the culture, which you can't, the students need a new safer medium for education.
Schools and mass gatherings of students are only still performed because it's traditional.
There is no need for the risk of forcing kids into unprotected gun free zones.
They are being nanny'd to death, literally.
Buy every kid an ipad.
Cut our school taxes by 70 percent. Let parents make sure the kids do the school work..
It already costs more to run the Rotterdam Schools than to run the entire Town of Rotterdam.
And people are demanding more money for security.
You can get a college degree online, but we can't teach reading math and history online to elementary and High School students?
Really? You can take all the classes needed to become a teacher online, but the teachers can't teach what they learned online?
I do agree with this, only problem I see is the rise in both parents working to survive, many rely on schools to be babysitters for their kids.

So what is the problem? students used to bring their guns to school to go hunting afterwards, some schools had target classes. Guns were not a problem back then so I don't see how they're to blame today, something went wrong in between.
we became 'civilized' trained monkeys.....exposed to all kinds of chemicals, most of which ended up in ground water/ food supply etc....let's not forget the natural normalcy of being outdoors just for the sake of outdoors...

No problem with the Gun Free Schools... just a huge problem with GUNS!!!
Get rid of assault weapons, large capacity magazines and implement mandatory background checks, and schools will be even safer! The majority of Americans agree!

The Sandy hook massacre was a planned event whereby he was attempting to break the record of the Norway killer.
Banning items won't stop unarmed people from others seeing how many unarmed people they can kill.
Knowing they are likely to hit resistance would make them choose a different unarmed group to massacre.
People who want to kill will simply find illegal weapons.
Gun limit laws only reduce legal gun owners rights.
They mean absolutely nothing to anyone planning a massacre.

Boxes imaginary majority, is that the same majority who thought the war on drugs was winnable or alcohol prohibition would work lmao. L4L has the right idea, give staff the option and let people know they might not get far before being blown away if they tried a massacre.

No, this is an actual majority of Americans, including a majority of NRA members.
According to a poll conducted in May by Republican pollster Frank Luntz, NRA members, overwhelmingly support measures typically described as “gun control:
1. Requiring criminal background checks on gun owners and gun shop employees. 87 percent of non-NRA gun-owners and 74 percent of NRA gun owners support the former, and 80 percent and 79 percent, respectively, endorse the latter.
2. Prohibiting terrorist watch list members from acquiring guns. Support ranges from 80 percent among non-NRA gun-owners to 71 percent among NRA members.
3. Mandating that gun-owners tell the police when their gun is stolen. 71 percent non-NRA gun-owners support this measure, as do 64 percent of NRA members.
4. Concealed carry permits should only be restricted to individuals who have completed a safety training course and are 21 and older. 84 percent of non-NRA and 74 percent of NRA member gun-owners support the safety training restriction, and the numbers are 74 percent and 63 percent for the age restriction.
5. Concealed carry permits shouldn’t be given to perpetrators of violent misdemeanors or individuals arrested for domestic violence. The NRA/non-NRA gun-owner split on these issues is 81 percent and 75 percent in favor of the violent misdemeanors provision and 78 percent/68 percent in favor of the domestic violence restriction.
