What confuses me, and the whole point of my response to joebxr and his silly conspiracy post, .........
Back to the point of my original post to joebxr's silly conspiracy posts.........

The silliness is that YOU make everything into some distorted conspiracy, chicken little, the sky is falling.....you cannot take anything as truth, even when proven to be! and most of all, when shown to be truth or that you are "mistaken", you don't have the manhood to admit you're wrong, instead you twist it in another CICERO direction!

I really thought that Cicero would "man up" when faced with overwhelming evidence that
he had made a mistake.
I guess I gave him too much credit...

Joe is right about Cic...   Cicero Is Never Wrong!

Man up?  You twisted a reference to the draft which had little to do with the entire context of the post.

Even when millions are killed in a war based on a lie, the sky is never falling in Joebxr's world.  He will take his orders and point his gun in whatever direction he is ordered.  He will lay down his life for a lying government. He will support extradudicial assassinations. He will support warrantless eavesdropping because Joebxr is one of the good guys.  He will support indefinite detention without due process.  He supports all of this because he is on the same team as those in power, and they only do these things to protect our freedom, and not for wealth and power of the few.

Do you believe these military members were not armed.....bad assumption.

2 cousins "drafted" prior to 1964....so how do you explain that?

Look, timelines, historical facts, documents, stupid unexecusable actions by military, etc.........there's a lot to all of what you say and what we say, but we cannot change anything that happened in the past, only try to improve the future.  Unfortunately our Government is driven from Political agendas that do not directly affect them, so their decision making process is severly flawed.
WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE INTO VIETNAM TO BEGIN WITH, but we did!
WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE INTO IRAQ, but we did!
WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE INTO AFGHANASTAN AFTER 9/11, but we did.
WE COULD HAVE CONDUCTED COVERT ACTIVITIES TO CAPTURE BIN LADEN, IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND BRING HIM TO TRIAL, but we didn't.

and I think that is the whole point.....those who we think know best, DON'T according to history....but human
nature remains the same....cicero isn't blasting those who CHOSE OR THOSE WHO WERE DRAFTED.....
cicero is questioning the defense of such leadership regardless of political party...and those we vote in to lead us,

lead us into death, wealth, poverty etc etc.....and only because we allow it.

the 'better ways' are less and less and less....regardless of party

cheering for a political party is like it's church patrons chanting for a god......

no disrespect to those who were military, just a question of where the pompoms come in

This thread, like so many on this board has taken a few wild turns on it's way here.  The thread subject...
"School Shooting..." has nothing to do with the Vietnam war or the draft but that is where some on
this board took it.
That poster included incorrect information on this board... then doubled down and pushed the issue that he
was NOT WRONG.  Once proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was wrong... he changed the subject.
He introduced the Vietnam War...
He introduced the military Draft...
When questioned on his error, his excuse was "are you going to pick one sentence out of the entire post
and argue it without context?"

Cissy tried to push false information as part of an overall theme.  When I objected to the false information,
Cissy dodged, ducked, weaved and blamed everything but himself.  All he had to do was to post... My facts
were in error.  OR  I show this evidence that my facts were correct.
Instead he resorted to his "rope a dope" and ran away from his own word.
Cissy doesn't have to man up for his own actions or words.  It's OK with me, but he can't run from them either.

Just a suggestion:

In the future keeping to the thread theme, at least in a general way, would avoid a lot of the confusion and
avoid some of the thread hijacks that are so typical here.  Conversations do tend to drift in a thread normally,
but some are right out of the blue and have noting to do with the thread... even indirectly.

REALLY...try reading some of his posts and show me how you can say that....maybe read about the "costumes" and "killers", etc., and then explain it to me again!!!
His disrepect for anything and anyone outside of CICERO WORLD is obvious and well documented. He despises those in uniform and those that served.

I work in a 'costumed' profession.....humans are easily lead by what they see, not necessarily what it truly is....taking
a uniform in ANY profession and automatically it projects what that definition of said uniform is and the expectation of
the person wearing it....

just because a doctor wears scrubs doesn't make them a god
just because a nurse wears a uniform doesn't make the pain go away
just because a police officer wears a uniform doesn't make them above the law
just because a military person wears a uniform doesn't make them a tool

I don't think it's ever about the PERSON as much as it is about 'the uniform' and it's underlying definition/control/facade

nothing personal....

it IS all about perception and what each of us has learned from 5th grade and throughout our lives

You seem like a normal individual that can separate the differences and place fair value upon a person versus what others on this forum do. According to Cic and a few others, because I "proudly" wore a uniform, by my own choice, and was in Vietnam, I am automatically a baby killer and associated with massacres and perform as a government puppet....a characterization that is so far from the truth, but yet prevasive with a few here.

prying out those slivers that get shoved into our minds by 'the system' requires work to remove and fix....learning
history given us by our leaders is lacking.....they get to be cute little cliches, those at podiums use to get into
an office of power...they are not gods/above the law etc etc.....

none of us alive now were in the civil war
ALOT of us alive now were not privy to the effects of WW1 or WW2
etc etc......

As Infowars has reported before, when our forefathers penned the Constitution, the purpose
of the 2nd Amendment was made perfectly clear:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people
to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd Amendment is “necessary to the security of a free State”; it is what helps ensure our
freedom from a tyrannous government.

Criminals who are dead set on committing murders will find a way to get a gun regardless of laws
or amendments. The real threat is the fact that our own government is armed to the teeth.
The 2nd Amendment does not only regard one’s personal self-defense, but it speaks to the
broader ability of the people to keep a potentially oppressive, out-of-control government
and its standing army in check.

America is based on the 2nd Amendment. Our liberty and the ability to stay free of total
government tyranny depends on it.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Project Longevity: Justice Department, Connecticut State Officials Target Gun Violence
Reuters  |  Posted: 11/27/2012 7:00 am EST

By David Ingram

WASHINGTON, Nov 27 (Reuters) - The Obama administration is taking a cautious step toward confronting the politically tricky subject of gun violence with an initiative focused on prevention due to be unveiled on Tuesday.

It will not be the gun control launch that some of President Barack Obama's supporters hoped for after Obama won a second four-year term in a Nov. 6 election.

Instead, U.S. Justice Department and Connecticut state officials will announce what one law enforcement official called a statewide approach that targets repeat criminals, creates alternatives for potential gang members and rallies neighborhoods against violence.

The initiative, known as Project Longevity, will send new federal grant money to Connecticut and involve agents, academics and social workers working for or with the FBI and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy are scheduled to discuss the plans at a news conference in New Haven, Connecticut, at 11 a.m. (1600 GMT).

Malloy, a Democrat, in June adopted a strategy known as "focused deterrence" that targets a small number of suspects who are under the supervision of probation officers or otherwise well known to law enforcement.

The model, which emphasizes education and other services for those suspects, as well as community meetings, has been credited with reducing violence in Boston and elsewhere.

Federal help for the effort is welcome even if Obama is not making a push to change laws that make guns easily available in much of the country, said Ron Pinciaro, executive director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence.

"The community needs to show a little more outrage on these things and demand that it be a top priority," Pinciaro said. "That will be more useful than another law right now."

Obama has repeatedly called for changes to federal gun laws, including a renewed ban on guns that critics call assault weapons. An earlier ban expired in 2004, and Obama reiterated his support for a new one in an October debate with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

But with other priorities, and facing strong opposition from pro-gun lobbyists, Obama has so far put off legislation.
