LOL! Stoking fear! Gotta have Social Security - because it gives the illusion of certainty in an uncertain world. Look, it has FEAR in the name of the program Social S-E-C-U-R-I-T-Y. Because without it, you would be insecure, which means more UNCERTAINTY. #10 "Conservatism is focused on preventing negative outcomes, while liberalism is focused on advancing positive outcomes."FDR must have been a fear mongering conservative with his "social safety net". Next straw man please?
Your brain defect is preventing you from seeing the obvious... A "secure" retirement in one's old age IS ADVANCING A POSITIVE OUTCOME! (No wonder Cic never gets it) |

Hahaha! It is FORCED onto EVERYBODY. You would thnk the liberal would make Social Security a voluntary program only for those fearful conservatives that cannot handle life's uncertainty. Makes you wonder why these modern day conservatives are demonized by the left when they suggested privatizing a portion of social security? The biggest argument against it from the left was because you can't leave people's retirement to the uncertainty of the markets. You would think suggesting privatizing social security would be a sign of the conservative mind evolving to better handle their fears of uncertainty. Most of the liberal arguments and policies are driven by the fear of uncertainty. But I guess you can make the illogical leap that your arguments to regulate people's fear of uncertainty with government welfare is advancing a positive outcome. It's almost like you have to create these government social programs for the conservitives that cannot handle life's uncertainty as well as the superior liberal mind can. |

What Cic's brain sees as a "fear of uncertainty", the rest of us see as ADVANCING A POSITIVE OUTCOME!
Ever wonder why our board "Cicero", chose the screen name "CICERO"???
Some history: Cicero believed his political career was his most important achievement. It was during his consulship that the Catiline conspiracy attempted the government overthrow through an attack on the city from outside forces, and Cicero suppressed the revolt by executing five conspirators without due process. Cicero championed a return to the traditional republican government. Following Julius Caesar's death Cicero became an enemy of Mark Antony in the ensuing power struggle, attacking him in a series of speeches. He was proscribed as an enemy of the state by the Second Triumvirate and subsequently murdered in 43 BC.
Even before the time of Christ... Cicero was an anti govt 'rabble rouser'. |

WOW CIC! Very perceptive! Obama is kind of Julius Caesar like! In 60 BC, Caesar, Crassus and Pompey formed a political alliance that was to dominate Roman politics for several years. Their attempts to amass power through populist tactics were opposed by the conservative elite within the Roman Senate, among them Cato with the frequent support of Cicero.(Just like your name sake Cic!) 5 Accomplishments of Julius Caesar ~Julius Caesar was a general, a statesman, a lawgiver, an orator, and historian. ~He never lost a war. ~Caesar fixed the calendar. ~He is thought to have created the first news sheet, Acta Diurna, which was posted on the forum to let everyone who cared to read it know what the Assembly and Senate were up to. ~He instigated an enduring law against extortion. Now if he just invented Universal Health Care, Caesar might even be as great as Obama! |

Cicero writtings were the catalyst behind the renaissance. Box is anti-renaissance, he is repulsed by the idea of individualism. His criticism of Cicero give us insight to tyrannical tendencies and desire to return to empirical rule. That's why he believes congressmen that oppose Obama are obstructionist. Box loves watching the death of the republic as we transition the presidency from a co-equal branch of a republic to an emperor. |

Box continues the ad hominem attacks. He praised Obama for forcing the unpopular compulsory health insurance onto all Americans, and he compared it to Emperor Julius Cesar. Then calls me parinoid when I point out his praise for Obama's imperial rule for which he just praised. You are too much box. Next ad hominem please. |

Once he fought the evil communist threat, then somehow he was taken to the dark side and now supports communism. |

ya wanna legislate more gun laws? criminals don't abide by the law. DUH! i believe that more 'legal' gun ownership equals less crime.government is not the solution to violence. ya want change? start rebuilding a civil society. how 'bout a society based on family, religion, civic and social institutions? We cannot reverse decades of moral and intellectual decline by passing more stupid, ineffective laws.
everyone looks to the government for their civil discord when in fact even our own government policies undermine civil society, cheapen life, and encourage immorality. folks look at the government as GOV ALMIGHTY.... yet our government advocates for endless undeclared wars and easy abortion at home. U.S. drone strikes kill thousands. when was the last time folks in America held vigils? how much news coverage went to THOSE victims....... who many being children?
our civil society is OUT OF CONTROL!!! the hippie dippy 60's...opened pandora's box....there ain't a law presently on the books or any new ones in the future that will resolve this sick society we live in today. imho |

Just the opposite is true... The more guns, the more death. " Where there are more guns there is more homicide. Our review of the academic literature found that a broad array of evidence indicates that gun availability is a risk factor for homicide, both in the United States and across high-income countries. Case-control studies, ecological time-series and cross-sectional studies indicate that in homes, cities, states and regions in the US, where there are more guns, both men and women are at higher risk for homicide, particularly firearm homicide." The Harvard school of public health. |

I cant argue with that, the US government has more weapons than the rest of the world combined. You may even have a few government kills under your belt yourself. Not only to they have the weapons, they have people that will use them if ordered by a higher ranking man in a government costume. |
