The "War On Christmas" comes earlier every year. For the folks over at FoxSnooze, who are still reeling from the outcome of the election, it seems there are many more reasons to be concerned this holiday season. From FoxSnooze... "Merry F'n Christmas"!

No one dares mention the name JESUS CHRIST!!! Not out loud any way. They all girl private foot around the 'real' christian meaning of Christmas....including FOX!!! They talk about a nativity set....a manger....blah blah blah.... .....but not one mention of the celebration of the birth of JESUS CHRIST, who came to fulfill the prophecy to be crucified and die for the sins of all humanity, for all that would receive him. to tell the story of mary and joseph.....
SILENT NIGHT.....OH HOLY NIGHT......THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST.....nope ya don't hear this when talking about the war on christmas.

CHRIST on CHRISTmas? Really? Some people think that CHRISTmas has no connection in America to Christ???
Actually, Christ wasn't born in December... the most likely time for his birth was September, approximately six months after Passover. So why do we celebrate his birth in December??? It has to do with the Christians STEALING a holiday from the pagans.
The old time Christians weren't doing a very good job of selling Christ to the populace in early times so to help the converts decide to join the new faith, the early Christians decided to use some WalMart type marketing and offer a 2 for 1 sale. If you join the Christians, you can still celebrate His birth along with your pagan celebration of the Goddess of Nature from ancient Babylon, the feast of the Son of Isis (Goddess of Nature) was celebrated on December 25. See? Be a Christian and get a 2 for 1 December 25th holiday!!! (Only once the pagans joined the Christians, they would be tortured if they actually worshiped a pagan idol. ) Again like Walmart, the Christians did a "bait & switch with the Dec 25th holiday.
In Rome, the Winter Solstice was celebrated many years before the birth of Christ. The Romans called their winter holiday Saturnalia, honoring Saturn, the God of Agriculture. In January, they observed the Kalends of January, which represented the triumph of life over death. This whole season was called Dies Natalis Invicti Solis, the Birthday of the Unconquered Sun.
The pagans of northern Europe celebrated the their own winter solstice, known as Yule. Yule was symbolic of the pagan Sun God, Mithras, being born, and was observed on the shortest day of the year. As the Sun God grew and matured, the days became longer and warmer. It was customary to light a candle to encourage Mithras, and the sun, to reappear next year.
Huge Yule logs were burned in honor of the sun. The word Yule itself means "wheel," the wheel being a pagan symbol for the sun. Mistletoe was considered a sacred plant, and the custom of kissing under the mistletoe began as a fertility ritual. Hollyberries were thought to be a food of the gods.
So if you consider the Pagan beginnings of "CHRISTmas", much of what Christians fear is being "Stolen" from then, was actually STOLEN from the pagans.
Um... Happy Holidays!!!

Actually some folks say the birth was in April. the calenders and dates have been changed through out the centuries....but theseare the dates we have to work with in this generation....it is what it is....
Personally our family doesn't care what the actual date is or was........we 'celebrate' the birth of JESUS CHRIST on December 25th. Before opening gifts we sing happy birthday to Jesus CHRIST with a home made baked cake with candles and with humility and thanksgiving and honor and praise. But that's just us............

The core of Christianity—the worship of a miracle working, walking, talking godman who brings salvation— was also the core of other ancient religions that began at least a thousand years before Jesus.
Heaven, hell, prophecy, daemon possession, sacrifice, initiation by baptism, communion with God through a holy meal, the Holy Spirit, monotheism, immortality of the soul, and many other "Christian" ideas all belonged to earlier, older Pagan faiths. They were simply part of ancient Mediterranean culture. Along with miracle working sons of God, born of a mortal woman, they were common elements of pre-Christian Pagan religion. Mithras had 'em. So did Dionysus, Attis, Osiris, and Orpheus. And more.

Holy crap, that must be a big cake with 2012 candles on it.

Well, actually not only is Christs Dec 25th date not accurate, but the 2012 is kinda sketchy too.
But it's probably close!

The Encyclopedia Judaica could not be more blunt: "The celebration of birthdays is unknown in traditional Jewish ritual."
I guess it would be OK for Jesus to celebrate his birthday, after all he's only Jewish on his mothers side!

Birthdays actually came out of the histories of Kings and Queens....they were like 'god kings'....they would have a party to celebrate their birthday and shower the (restless unsatisfied) plebs with food/gifts/pardons......to win their affection for another year so there were less problems for the monarchy to deal with and they could plan on foreign wars, which also incidentally would provide a 'common enemy'....
