To invalidate third party patents or strengthen your own applications, UBM TechInsights engineers perform an investigation of the art related to a patent or invention starting with publically available literature and patent databases enhanced by our proprietary inventory of over 26,000 devices, 6,000 reports and technical literature dating back to the mid-1970’s.

More specifically: Devices from UBM TechInsights’ inventory include ICs ranging from DRAM and Flash memory to Analog (ex. ADCs/DACs, Power MOSFETs, RF) to microprocessors and ASICs, as well as consumer products including cell phones, Set-top boxes, DVD recorders and TV’s.

I'd say this is stifling

This why you have a $500 TV with a tuner that stays on channel 3 and devices that are incapable of
interfacing seamlessly, thereby forcing profits into add-ons and devices that are all proprietary and
incompatible.

This is why your cable bill is $200.

time to leave the cities to the filth they have harbored, get some clean soil and get to the INDEPENDENT toil of feeding oneself...

what's harder farming or having a job at a company that the only way you get to keep it is with a union....

who wants to be the puck anymore?

Natural seeds are prohibited by law.

Monsanto spores will blow onto your farm and destroy your feeble natural attempts at not feeding
from the corporate feeding trough.

Equal treatment under the law, ring any bells, Joey?
How is favoring deadbeats over productive members of society equal treatment?

Sorry if my spitting offends a person who supports killing people.

Come on, I condemn killing innocent people and you have an issue with that?

I want freedom for all, and you have an issue with that?

I want everyone to be treated equally by the government, and you have an issue with that?

I have opinions, you have an issue with that.

Like I said, you have issues.

Is this what you fought for? Your right to silence people expressing opinions by harassment?

Try debating the issues themselves.

There is no justification for killing the innocent.

There is no justification for financial favoritism from the government.

There is no justification for attacking people because you don't like their views, by harassment, because
they paid a tax bill after the due date.

You know nothing about me but claim I support killing people becuase I wore a uniform, of my own choosing, and am a comabt veteran of an unpopular war....pretty arrogant of you to categroize me and even more arrogant to feel yo have a right to spit on me for wearing that uniform and being part of the Vietnam war...for that reason you got off on the wrong side with me becuase I expereinced that iggnorant stupiduty first hand and to hear it again after so many years is angering....I would have thought by now anyone who reviewed that actiivities of that era would have smartened up by now and not prescribe to such stupidity....and that is exactly what it is.

Freedom for all....well what the hell do you think I wore the uniform for???? You wear the unfiform you don't get to picjk your battles, you only hope that you are on the side of right and freedom.....it is what we have in our heart, but I would never expect you to understand that. You only follow the flock!

I really don't have issues, regardless of your opinion...the issues are on your siade of the fence, and that as been shown time and again through your postings. And where have I silenced you...I've only challenged you becuase I don't believe in your thoughts.

Calling IP financial favoritism by the government is another one of your misunderstandings....trying to get you to really understand that is not something I have the time for, beucase unless it means you can pirate info for free, you don't care about the truth.

As for your last statement about due date, etc., I'm really not clear where that came from.  I made a statement about paying taxes, which I do, becuase it related to what the discussions was (government control, limiting freedom thru IP protection, etc.,....taxes support that along with the commisions that make and enforce the rules).

As for debating the issues, how is that possible when people with narrow focus believe only what they want?  I'll be glad to debate on any topic, provided that:
(A) The other person is open minded to an honest discussion
(B) they are willing to present facts that they have knowledge of and not based on personal motive
(C) it involves topic that I have enough understanding of and knowlege in that I can discuss facts

So tell you what...wanna have a honest discussion....I'll start one in CHIT CHAT and let's see wher it goes (SUBJECT: SPITTING).

I've been amused watching L4L and Joebxr's back and forth on the IP issue.

Philosophically, L4L is right about intellectual property.  One party doesn't have the right to tell another party how to use their property and resources. If you believe in individual property rights, then a copyright law in essence let's one individual dictate what another individual can do with the ink and paper they own.  If I own a canvas and paint, I should be allowed to paint Starry Night.

What I find amusing is that watching both L4L and Joebxr participate on this forum, both have supported in some capacity or another that the government has property rights that supersede the individual right.  Joebxr opposes an private citizen "stealing" one person's intellectual property in the form of software and profiting from it, because that individual has no right to that property.  But what he does support is the government taking a percentage of your property through taxation because government does have a right to a certain percentage of that property.

Same goes with L4L, he opposes IP laws because he seems to be aware that government has no right to allow one person to dictate how another person uses their property.  Yet, he has supported the governments right to take MY property(in the form of taxation) and spend it on social (NOT corporate) welfare programs that I otherwise would not want my property used for.

So my analysis of both of your argument is this.  You BOTH believe the government owns the individual and that the individual has no rights to their property without government approval.  Neither one believe in property rights, intellectual or otherwise.

Compulsory Education - government owns your children
State Registration - government owns whatever you are required to register
State Licensing - government owns whatever requires licensing(marriage)
Taxation - government owns a percentage of your property
Compulsory Health Insurance - government owns your healthcare.
...the list goes on and on and on...

Philosophically, L4L is right ...

I stopped listening after this sentence fragment. Lol!

Actually as a kid I was more of an Anarchist. My philosophy was you can't own anything
because it all comes from the Earth and eventually returns ton the Earth.

Today, I don't believe that a total lack of government could exist in the present day world. Taxation
and collective services are needed by the majority of people. I don't have an issue with majority rule.
I do understand that you do. I begrudgingly accept paying taxes. people are no longer able to fend
for themselves due to the corporate controls now placed on society. The collective has a responsibility
to help people to not be victims to the changes that so called "progress" has made.(inflicted)

Obviously the system of taxation has loopholes that you can drive a billion dollars through, but even
with these problems, society hasn't collapsed. Should we have a fair system of taxation, of course, but
no one will ever agree on anther person's idea of fairness.

The government laws regarding copyrights band patents has been using more and more resources
every day and is costing billions. Artificial values gouging people at every turn, artificial industries
created from these laws employing millions who do nothing except charge people using various
methods for things that would be free without government protection.

We agree on one thing, we both want the government to take less from people.

You support collective services, but you oppose the collective services provided by the corporate interests that the majority rule choose?  You can't have collective services through political action without centralizing power and control into the hands of a few.  Your means to an end will produce the exact opposite of your stated goal.  The collective services will be controlled by the 1% at the will of the mostly uninformed 51%.

Majority rule did not choose corporate control.

You are thinking of bribes and kickbacks that bought off the will of the people.

I understand your wanting to 'protect' your IP through the gangstas of today....but,,,remember, remember the 5th of november
