The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Much like property owners who don't pay their delinquent property tax bills. Right Paul? You paid yours yet?

I want to see the definition and math equation

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

They can move forward with increasing taxes on those over $250k, but there are enough loopholes and tricks that the effective rate of net to the bottom line will be negligble. Close the loopholes; get aggressive on unpaid taxes; go after the offshore tax shelters;....end result would be amazing.

What would be amazing?  The entitlements would be paid in the short term, until the rest of the manufacturing jobs and tech companies leave the country and set up shop where they could keep their money.  The American landscape will be comprised of discount retail stores and warehouses. There will be 2 career choices, retail or logistics.

OH!  I didn't know YOU were an economist.  You see AMAZING results based on ALL your wisdom.

If I were to guess, you are an author that writes fairy tales.

It's called common sense....something you are severly lacking. Try to follow this:
(1) LOOPHOLES mean that peole/companies get away with paying less than their fair share but using the HOLES int eh tax code....it's unfortunately legal, UNTIL, our elected officials close them. Then what has been not paid, would be paid, AKA MORE TAXES NET
(2) Go after those that simply do not pay taxes....grasp this...if you collect those UNPAID taxes, then again AKA MORE TAXES NET
(3) Offshore tax shelters.....why do you think they are called TAX SHELTERS....ready....BECUASE IT 'S A WAY TO SHELTER YOUR MONEY FROM PAYING TAXES! Now if they didn't exist and we closed down that network....again...AKA MORE TAXES NET.

There's the common sense of it all. Doesn't take an economist to figure that out.  NO FAIRY TALE, JUST COMMON SENSE FACT!!!!

Yup, that simple...I wonder why Greece and Europe isn't following those simple rules.

Joebxr, give Europe a call.   The EU and the Eurozone is about to break up, there are riots in Greece and spreading to other European nations.  Give them your 1,2,3 solution to fixing government debt caused by entitlements.

I am laughing...thank you. I was anxious to see how you would address my comments, and you didn't fail me. Now you know how other countries economies are run, too, and they suffer from similar gaps in their tax structure.  That's their problems, really....NOT!  Look at European employment regulations and all the issues around their Government controlled employment...it might give you a clue on some of what ails them.  By the way, please point out where I said this was a solution to our debt....cuz you won't find that

I just figured when you said the "end result would be amazing" I took that as the solution.  Maybe when you say the "end result would be amazing" it means it wouldn't do sh*t.  I agree with you if it means it won't do sh*t, since historically, raising tax rates do not result in an increase in revenue.

OK, so you make assumption instead of reading the words...said results amazing, not THE SOLUTION TO OUR DEBT....and I already said raise the taxes on the rich would be basically useless.
Not sure your graph really tells much, but even at that, it ends in 2005....LONG TIME AGO!!!
