As a Christian, I can’t condone, much less suggest, the killing of innocent people. Isn’t that how we define terrorism when it’s done by others?

PETER LOOKER
Scotia

Silly Silly Peter...American's are FREEDOM FIGHTERS!  We are spreading freedom, we are not terrorists.  When we bomb countries and overthrow governments with force or threats of force so their governments are friendly to the U.S. - that isn't terrorism.  It is only when America is threatened with violence in an attempt to change our foreign policy to get us out of their country and their business is it called terrorism.

Peter, we piss on Afghani's to keep you free and liberate the Afghan people from their own rule they've had for centuries.  Oh yeah...and protect the poppy fields too.

Looks like Peter needs a refresher in blind patriotism and nationalism.  Peter need not worry, when American's drop bombs on Pakistani weddings and villages, it is always done in compliance with the Christian Just War Theory.  God's on our side.

Happy Veterans Day.

Like it or not; agree with it or not; people who wear/wore the uniform did it with good intentions. You don't have to condone anything of what we do/did, but you could try to be adults instead of jerks and not disrepect us with your TIC well wishes. GROW UP!!!!!

You know what they say about the path to hell. What we take as good intentions maybe the complete opposite to those who are on the receiving end of it.

Why would I burn a flag?  It's a waste of time and matches.

BTW...I'm not trying to disrespect those that are serving or served prior - but rather alert those who are thinking about "serving".  If people do choose to serve, I would hope they refuse to be deployed overseas to fight and die in countries that are no threat to America.  I hope they refuse to fight under the UN flag for UN mission.

We’ve been occupying Afghanistan for 11+ years, training Afghan forces that end up shooting them in the back - for WHAT?

It is uncomfortable to see the hypocrisy of our foreign policy, and the death and destruction of lives around the world.

On one hand we condemn the tactic of "terrorism", a tactic which terrorizes the civilian population in hopes of influencing U.S. government policies.  Yet, we put economic sanctions on Iraq for a decade, resulting in tens of thousands of innocent civilians to die of starvation, in an effort to change their government policies.  We bombed the irrigation systems in Vietnam knowing that it would cause many in the civilian population to starve.  We dropped nuclear bombs on two cities in Japan killing hundreds of thousands of civilians to end the war.  We are now doing the same thing in Iran with economic sanctions.  NOT TERRORISM THOUGH.  – It’s legitimate because it was sanctioned by the state, ordered by men with medals on their chest, performed by people in government issued costumes and supported by about 25% of the US population.

I'll say it again, I feel sorry for those that enlist and put their faith in this government to only send them into battle to defend the country. That hasn’t happened in a LONG TIME.

Our foreign policy has instigated the terrorist response. And we continue to send our young men and women into these countries to agitate them even more

Terrorism and the war on terror is a self fulfilling prophecy.  As long as people believe that the United States is an “exceptional nation” and we have the right to fly into whatever country we want and drop bombs onto their population killing innocent families –  there will continue to be a growing number of people wanting to avenge their deaths that we call “terrorists”.

Ah, so you are the moral compass of our young generation!

You are the broken compass of the previous generation.

Yes, $16 trillion in debt, $1 trillion in an annual deficit, trillions more in unfunded liabilities and never ending wars.  Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid all insolvent, all with your generation at the helm of this sinking ship.  I'm glad you can keep it positive.  Well, I guess expecting your children to pick up the tab for your generations mismanagement of your beloved entitlements,  you'll probably be dead after putting your kids in the poor house.

Nothing broken here! Fully aware of the debts, issues, failures. The people have re-elected Obama, and they are not by any means all from my generation, so maybe your intrepretation is a little flawed, as usual. It's the Cicero way, between the blinders!

The people were offered 2 candidates selected by the establishment in both parties. Both parties are controlled by a majority of baby boomers.  Look at the leadership in both parties - Boehner, Pelosi, Reid, McConnel, Clinton, Bush. The problems the boomer generation created pushing this entitlement society will crush their children under mountains of debt.

2 candidates, really????
And the people that voted were well aware of who is in office, and made the coice they did, OVERWHELMINGLY!!!!!
Pelosi is a dinosaur and needs to be gone
Clinton IS NOT incotntorl of economic decisions
Reid and McConnel are not bad but need to use their heads instead of just toeing the party line
Boehner, well he is a piece of work that I simply cannot grasp, other than he has the arrogance of a Gingrich, but sheds tears in the process.

And you forgot to mntion BUSH....SHHHHHHHH, we don't bring that up. He only had 8 years to destory our economy, and enter us into 2 wars that were not neccessary.....but we don't speak about that, we only blame the current administration/senate/house.

I did?  The list I gave wasn't partisan, it was generational.

what I find interesting is the liberals who say there's too much church in government and yet keep setting up
and supporting pre-crime laws that our elected keep enacting....it's like sin in church....

really? they have that much 'faith' in government to tell you that calling someone fat/black/gay etc is wrong and that
zero tolerance and a record on your deed will be kept by the government is OK?

there is more personal responsibility in 'church' than there is taught in government....

'Oh my government please help me. someone called me fat. another person called me black. blah blah blah.'

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
