Second W.Va. newspaper endorses Obama
By Staff reports
The Charleston Gazette
Advertiser

GLENVILLE, W.Va. -- This week, the West Virginia Press Association noted that The Charleston Gazette was the state's only daily newspaper to endorse President Obama for re-election when early voting began. But the report wasn't completely inclusive.

Editor-Publisher David Corcoran, who holds a doctorate in history, wrote a strong Obama endorsement in his Glenville Pathfinder and Glenville Democrat. He said the president "has done about as good a job as any chief executive could do" after inheriting the worst economic collapse since the Great Depression and facing "uncompromising" Republican hostility in Congress.

Corcoran said Obama's historic medical reform will help many West Virginians, including himself. "President Barack Obama showed the nation where his heart lay -- with the financially hard-pressed middle class, the forgotten poor and the chronically sick and elderly."

The publisher added that Obama's "so-called 'war against coal' is just scare tactics" by political enemies. He concluded that West Virginia isn't among swing states in the Nov. 6 election, but it's nonetheless a "battleground state."

Looks like Obama has that 40% of Americans that still trust their bias media locked up.
