Richard A. Collins, 62, of Rotterdam, died peacefully on September 17, 2012 at Ellis Hospital with his family by his side, after a short battle with cancer. Rick was born in Schenectady on March 28, 1950 to the late David H. and Ruth L. (Sudmyer) Collins. Rick began working at General Electric in Schenectady in his early years. In 1973 he began his lifetime career as a Rotterdam police officer. In 1983 he was promoted to police investigator (Detective Division), retiring from the police force in 2005 |
