Sorry, but the Ankers on Curry Road is a joke compared to the one on Altamont Ave.
I can walk to the Curry Rd Ankers...went there once, won't be back. Standing in line for 20 minutes on a Friday in the small, grease covered Altamont Ave Ankers is worth it...

Actually, I make an excuse to drive to Ted's on Hoosick street when I can....their onion rings are addicting.. the fish is pretty good too.

I like Ted's fish the best out of all of them. The new one on Wolf Rd is much closer. Ted's only sells by the pound, on Fridays.

Combo's Bluefish by the pound is excellent too. Enter the Combo's neighborhood at your own risk.

For Haddock I go to Anker's on Altamont Ave.

I too can walk to Anchors, etiher at it's current or future location, but I didn't like this Anchor's when it was on Guilderland, didn't like it on Curry, and most certainly won't patronize it when it goes back to guilderland.  I won't revisit it, ever. Not because of the owner, but the quality of food is SUCK.

I'd much prefer, if I had to, Altamont Ave - just don't go on the day before they change the oil (Wed).

Combos and Ted's are both superior, in my opinion.

I agree Combo's and Ted's Fry have great fish.  However, I very rarely eat anything deep fried anymore.  Combo's does serve Baked Haddock --- haven't been to Ted's in a few years so I am not sure if they offer a baked or broiled alternative.

On the topic of fish --- there are a lot of new varieties of frozen or fresh fish at the markets lately -- has anyone tried  SWAI  ???????    Is it any good ??????????

Ankers on Curry Rd had broiled items on the menu, but did away with them.

Unfortunately, I have never been to Ankers so I am not in a position to give any opinions on food or service.
No reason other than our family has been good friends with the owners of Combo's for years and it became a habit to pick up our Friday fish dinner from them.   I became familiar with Ted's when I was in college.

Personally -- my favorite place to get fish or seafood was a place I came across 22 years ago in Maryland.  It was located on US 50 Stevensville/Chester, MD.   One side of the building was a wholesale operation that bought the fish and seafood brought in by the fishermen in the bay and on the other side was a small take-out only fish and seafood stand.    It was a great place to get soft shell crab boiled/steamed seasoned with Old Bay seasoning.  You could sit on picnic bench with great views of the bay -- and enjoy your meal.

My cousin tells me that the place has since been torn down and replaced with tacky cookie-cutter strip mall.
