There's a big one off Altamont--few houses behind the Pizza Hut---tons of responders in the Pizza Hut and subway parking lots. Tons of them up and down the side street also. I could see the smoke from Union Street. |

No, it on the other side of Altamont. It's diwn one of the side streets and based on where the smoke us coming from iwould guess the back if the house or a garage (deeper into the property). There was like a hundred people walking around and looking...it was like people were parking fir fireworks or something. |

It’s believed fire started in a garage, where the homeowners were doing some welding work. Emergency crews are asking the hundreds of people watching to keep a distance, due to a concern over toxic chemicals in the garage. So far, it seems like everyone got out safely. I happened to drive down Altamont Ave. as the firemen got there, I must say there was a ton of smoke. Whatever was on fire has to be a total loss. Hope everyone made it out ok. |
