It looks like they are replacing most of the foundation.

They are installing a new drainage system.

At least they aren't begging taxpayers for a new multi-million dollar fire house................YET!

That will happen when this cant be completed due to pollution in the soil

I thought they were just gonna plug in to the one that serves the apt/housing complex near the industrial park - or the Banquet house where Bigsbee used to be.

     I believe it is "internal" drainage from within the station, so they can wash the trucks indoors especially during the winter.

Wasn't clear on what they were doing either, but several weeks back saw they were tering up the concrete flooring inside the firehouse, so would tend to believe you are right. Only thing confusing is why tear up whole floor (which is what it looked like). Could have ripped portion down middle and put "V" down middle for water drainage.

Agreed!  Squegee to a sump pit???

The firehouse is making necessary and reasonable improvements to its facilities.  They consulted experts who actually know what they are talking about when planning these improvements.  Comments like draining to a sump pump and the other similar comments -  just show how ridiculously insane the constant critics are.
