I was woken up to Screaming tires and sirens about 2:30am Thursday and got to my window just in time to see a light colored mini van come tearing around the corner onto Alheim, down Rocco and then down Inner-(lucky they didn't flip that thing the way he took those corners) right behind the van was RPD SUV-right behind him was a RPD car...the sirens stopped shortly after they went down Inner...Any idea what was going on? I guess it was a good thing that this happened in the middle of the night rather than 7pm when people are walking their dogs and kids in strollers but still...scary that this scene out of a movie happened right past my house!

I heard a low flying helicopter late last night too but I didn't see it.  A person I work with said there was a low flying gray helicopter shinning a spot light down to the ground.  I don't know if the two are related, just throwing it out there.

and nothing on the news.......must be a "dry run" for something......

doesn't anyone own or listen to scanners anymore?

There are cop cars always driving thru the coldbrook area. If ya drive down altamont ave, you can certainly understand why.

Some do, and you can even stream it on-line at points, but who sits up listening to the scanner for a police chase at 2:30 AM?

This is the type of crime RPD loves to fight it justifies their existence and the need for the latest gadgets and special uniforms

WOW!! Now ROTTENdam is sound 'just like the city'! City residents have been screaming for the same service for years and look where that got them. It would be nice if the rpd became proactive and showed the spd how it's done................yes?

Generally black helicopters are pretty quiet.
