Yesterday, the folks at the Chicago Tribune had a similar chance. Unfortunately, their article that appeared in yesterday’s edition also included only half of the story (i.e., that the Windy City closed 2008 with 509 homicides, an increase of about 15 percent over 2007).
So what you posted is that the CITY OF CHICAGO had more homicides than 36 COUNTRIES???

Do you really want me to post all the cities in the USA like Miami, Chicago, LA, NYC,and Phily. All I was saying is that the cities with the strictest gun control laws are the ones with the biggest gun problems.

So you want to outlaw firearms, why we are at it can we also ban freedom of speech and regulate freedom of religion

If Guns are Outlawed, Only OUTLAWS Will Have Guns... Except in Estonia, Moldova, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, New Zealand, Chile, Cyprus, Morocco, Oman, Luxembourg, Iceland... and, well 30 more countries.
Gun Ownership Per Capita by Country United States 88.8 1 Serbia 58.2 2 [5] Yemen 54.8 3 Switzerland 45.7 4 Cyprus 36.4 5 Saudi Arabia 35.0 6 Iraq 34.2 7 Finland 32.0 8 [6] Uruguay 31.8 9 Sweden 31.6 10 Norway 31.3 11 France 31.2 12 Canada 30.8 13 Austria 30.4 14 Iceland 30.3 15 Germany 30.3 15 New Zealand 22.6 22 1993: 26.8.[2] Greece 22.5 23 Northern Ireland 21.9 25 Angola 17.3 34 Thailand 15.6 39 Australia 15.0 42 Mexico 15.0 42 South Africa 12.7 50 Turkey 12.5 52 Italy 11.9 55 Pakistan 11.6 57 Spain 10.4 61 Argentina 10.2 62 Russia 8.9 68 Iran 7.3 79 England and Wales (England and Wales) 6.2 88 Scotland 5.5 93 China 4.9 102 India 4.2 110 Tunisia 0.1 178
When gun ownership per capita doesn't correlate with gun deaths per capita, what lie do you tell next? I bet a lot of people didn't know the peaceful Swiss are 4th n the world for private gun ownership.

Nice try but the constitution is about protecting life and the rights that life has

YUP! We agree. It's about protecting it's citizens... and guaranteeing their FREEDOMS. Freedom of religion, of speech, of assembly... but no where does the US Constitution of a clump of cells, any rights.

Just like ya can't put toothpaste back in it's tube.....you can't un-invent the gun!!! It is here to stay!! This country has some of the toughest laws in the world and yet violence in ALL forms are rising. Two issues.........
One.....this is just a side effect of a sick society with little or no moral plumb line. And ya can't legislate morals!! And clearly the tough laws aren't working to stop it!
Two....since guns are here to stay...start gun training in ALL schools at a young age. Teach them that guns are for 'defense'. Teach them the safety and how to respect guns! Parents teach your children!!!
In less than 3 generations, this country could be the best well armed and educated in the world!!!
I'm sure the government could create an entire committee to oversee it! It would be a sure money maker!!
Let's stop demonizing the gun! EDUCATE! EDUCATE! EDUCATE!!

Guns are an instrument, just like a crowbar, a knife or a bomb. I grill a steak, the steak doesn't hop on my grill on its own, the grill doesn't turn itself on on its own,

Americans need to arm themselves against these stray wacko nut jobs!!! We have the constitutional right to arm and defend ourselves.......and so we should!!!!!!
