I agree - funds shouldn't be transferred from the water district to balance the budget.  I don't agree with your characterization of our town leaders but then you are entitled to your own opinion.

However, I am raising another issue -- that is -- what services are actually necessary and essential.  Reliable and safe water for drinking, cooking, bathing and household chores is necessary and essential  (IMHO).  Is water for watering plants and gardens and lawns essential and necessary or a luxury?  Should the town consider a metered watering system - allowing for a reasonable amount of "free water" for necessary and essential uses" and charging for usage above that amount?

If water service for lawns is not available, I want a reassessment.

My property is worth less without lawn watering.

True....but it goes well beyond this. Where is the money to fix these pumps? They have been in need of replacement for 'how long'? Let me ask someone/anyone here!! With the lack of rain and the extremely dry conditions....what happens if there is a major fire...or two...or three?? Is this pump issue actually a safety issue?

Just 2 points here.......
First....MG has been in that position for HOW MANY YEARS??? MG served under BOTH political parties....yes? MG doesn't act nor shouldn't without 'supervisor approval'.  So basically....this is 'rottendam as usual'. MG didn't serve in a vacuum.....yes? MG apparently got the 'nod' by his higher ups. Remember the FIVE who sit on the board are accountable tothe taxpayers......the buck stop there......end of story!

second....rotterdamians 'in the know' at the donut shop says it was 'concentual'. So it will boil down to a 'he said she said' issue.

just sayin

There was very little oversight when it came to MG  just so long as the developers were happy and got what they wanted. It was all mind over matter they didn't mind and we didn't matter.

Using a hand-held hose for a few minutes to water your garden or flower beds is permissible.

You still haven't responded to admit your lie about using hand held hoses.   Why not?   You never are willing to admit you lie.

Proof was the guy who wrote about his parents being away and how the town told him "no" and cops came around, as well as the hand held hose for a few minutes to cool some children in a back yard as shown and told in the paper

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

You are just too stupid to comprehend plain English.  READ VERY SOWLY AND YOU MIGHT UNDERSTAND:  Cooling children in the backyard with a hose is NOT watering your garden or flower beds.  So the liar is you -- the cowardly cuckoo -- now crawl back into your nest in your attic.

So where were MG's supervisors? Who did he answer to? Who knew the pump needed replacing and yet no money was allocated for it? Again......common sense here folks..........the buck did not and does not stop with MG!! The buck stops at the TOWN BOARD and rests solely at their feet!!!

It is obvious that MG was just the 'waterboy'!!! MG got the 'stamp of approval' from the 'higher ups'....yes? Looks like monies was diverted to other budget items that were more important than WATER.....perhaps??

This is just sooooooooooooo rottendam!!

The town board blew the money that they had for such emergencies on other things. Remember the $250,000 that was set aside for Masullo water problems that just disappeared and nobody said nothing. Who OKed the storm water drainage system that never worked in Sunrise Estates that had to be redone because it was installed wrong. Rotterdam should have an engineer instead of an appointed political hack with a made up title.

Again.......just call your local police dept and ask them what they are instructed to view as a 'water crime'!
Get it from the horse's mouth....no?

You are an excellent research poster MC1, that has thankfully passed on some valuable info.....did you research this issue as well?
