A mantra of the left is that states with Republican Governors are cracking down on 'voter fraud' in an attempt to "suppress votes". What is unsaid is that the people being suppressed are minority & they vote Democrat.
If voter fraud exist, it should be every governors duty, Democrat or Republican to stamp it out.
The all consuming question is; Why are Democrat Governors not going after voter fraud? The answer is clear, Democrats believe they benefit from voter fraud. There are some sick puppies in the Democrat Party.
An honest election process is what sets America apart from less democratic nations in the world. Our system is convoluted which contributes to an election process that guarantees a status quo no matter which party wins an election. That is another issue that requires correction.
Voter fraud strikes at the heart of our Republic.
"Vote early, vote often" sounds funny but it is no joke.

The Voter Suppression Project "Across the country, the Republicans' carefully orchestrated plan to make voting harder -- let's call it the Voter Suppression Project -- may keep just enough young people and minorities from the polls that Republicans will soon be in charge of all three branches of the federal government."
"Yes, both sides try to change voting laws to favor their team. The 1993 'motor voter' law that made voting more convenient by extending registration to the Department of Motor Vehicles helped mostly Democrats. That was at least in the long American tradition of expanding the franchise."
"The Republican effort to restrict voting isn't just anti- Democrat, it's anti-democratic. No fair-minded person believes the tall tales of voters pretending they were someone else... This isn't about stopping vote-stealing and other corruption, for which there are already plenty of laws on the books. It's about rigging the system to keep power."

Dems worry that if voter roles are corrected undocumented Democrats can't vote in the 2012 election.
I worry that undocumented Republicans will vote in this election... Just as with Undocumented Democrats... it's often discussed but in reality, it almost never happens.(About the same chances as being struck by lightening)
Through out history, "Voter Suppression" DOES happen... so much so that laws have been passed to prevent this abuse of power.

Well if everyone is worried about people who are not eligible to vote actually voting let's remove all those both Dem and Rep who are not entitled to vote from the roles.

I have no problem eliminating those who are not eligible to vote of either party. BUT The present GOP Voter Suppression Program going on in Florida is using 10 year old data to remove those ineligible... if you became a citizen 9 years ago, and your name is on the list, you will be removed. If you are John Q Doe and your dad, also John Q Doe passed away 8 or 9 years ago, you also may be removed.
This campaign is suddenly a priority... not in an off election year, when mistakes have time to be corrected, but in a presidential election year, in a state with a history of voter suppression.
The GOP can't win with a by the book election... so they are rewriting the book to fit the outcome.

Tough to stop voter fraud when there is so very little of it! (Tom Maertens)
According to the Washington Post, 34 state legislatures introduced voter ID bills last year. Does this mean that there is suddenly an epidemic of fraudulent voting?
~A major probe by the Bush Justice Department between 2002 and 2007 failed to prosecute a single person for impersonating an eligible voter, which the voter ID laws are supposedly designed to prevent.
~There were 300 million votes cast in that period, yet federal prosecutors convicted only 86 people for vote fraud — mostly involving immigrants and former felons who were unaware of their ineligibility to vote.
~An investigation in Wisconsin led to the prosecution of only .0007 percent of the local electorate for alleged voter fraud.
~When the Supreme Court took up Indiana’s voter ID law, they could only identify one instance of in-person voter fraud in the last 143 years.
~As a 2007 report by the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University put it, “It is more likely that an individual will be struck by lightning than that he will impersonate another voter at the polls.” Indeed, between 2000 and 2007, there were 352 deaths caused by lightning in the United States, but only nine cases of voter impersonation.
This call to end "voter fraud" is actually just the latest installment of GOP Voter Suppression.

What's happening in Florida now is about as undemocratic as it gets. Anyone to simple to see this is a complete f'n moron. FYI, I'd be saying the same thing if the Dems were doing this, or a independent was. If your a republican you shouldn't be making excuses for this behavior, you should be pressing your officials to act not as partisans but as Americans.
