There is a resolution on the Town Board meeting agenda to appoint a part-time clerk for the Town Justice. What's with that????? We already have a paralegal working in Town Hall who would easily transition to this slot. There was a similar issue last year when they brought back a town retiree when we could have simply transferred the paralegal to that position. Why not promote from within and use the resources available to us??? I cannot imagine the TB approving this resolution. I wouldn't think there would be money in the budget as I remember seeing a replay of a meeting earlier this year when the Board appointed the Confidential Secretary. RG had suggested that the salary be increased and the Supervisor replied something like the budget wouldn't allow for it.
They are just getting it set up for the 'next' town justice!

Missed that initially but after reading the agendas, I see that the hourly rate did go from $11 to $17.95. 63% ! But I guess that's OK because the recently appointed clerk's spouse was also appointed to a committee position earlier this year (TIC).
