Why is it that when a person drives to NYC they are met with logic and convenience to not overwhelm them with traffic jams and long toll lines?
Simple. They cut the traffic tie-ups in half by merely allowing the tolls to be charged in one direction.
My suggestion it that you learn from this and stop charging both ways on the thruway. This will give the drivers more time at home as well as save millions of gallons of gas. Simply allow cars going one way to pass freely and charge twice as much for the other direction.
And before you say drive past the exit and pull a u turn to avoid the tolls, put up $500 fine signs for illegal u-turns. That way toll avoiders can contribute as well.
Imagine coming up the Thruway and just exiting freely to the Northway without the traffic jams and accidents.

I really do understand that they need to photograph every vehicle and collect fingerprints and DNA samples for nefarious government agendas, but enough is enough. At least remove the tolls one way. Give the commuters a break. Exit 24 is horrible.
Porco was convicted of murder when they came up with a thruway ticket they happened to have with his DNA on it.
1. Collect thruway tickets 2. Take Fingerprints from the tickets 3. Take DNA samples from the tickets 4. Photograph all vehicles 5. Correlate photographs, plate numbers, fingerprints and DNA and save in massive Orwellian database.
I suppose a government needs something to keep itself busy.
I can't believe they haven't started issuing speeding tickets to people who's tickets arrive at the destination to soon. It shouldn't be long.
dont worry the thruway will soon be run just like our new healthcare system...pretty soon going though a toll will measure our tire pressure, engine heat, exhaust fumes...oh and don't forget our weight and BMI...all the while adding this info automatically to our real ID....then issuing tickets for being to sedentary and making us walk next time....by not allowing passage..... gas mileage etc etc.....hell, we won't even be driving independently anymore,.....
