If this has allegedly been happening for 7 years and the folks on the town board (past/present) knew about it and did NOTHING......then the town is liable and should be ready for a major lawsuit.

An employer....in this case the town of rotterdam......MUST provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. If they fail to correct an issue that has been brought to their attention.......THEY ARE LIABLE!!!

And where's tj hooker in all of this? He has first hand knowledge from the Jimmy C days on how to handle 'sexual issues'....yes?

Although it wouldn't surprise anyone if nothing legally comes of this and somehow it just gets brushed under the rug. Rotterdam is the epitome of Deliverance after all!!

this is quoted from another thread.http://www.rotterdamny.info/m-1303605381/s-135/

Lol. I did hear from a local bartender that she used to call a certain bar on weekends looking for mg to see if he was there. Talk about creepy. Funny no one knows about this

I'm sure it will all come out in the wash......that's if it isn't hushed up and brushed under the rug.

Time will tell if the media will follow thru on this one or if everyone will have to rely on the citizen journalists!

Quoted Text
Town Attorney Kate McGuirl later refused to produce a copy of the notice of claim and said Marco had “sealed the document” in her office since early March. She continued to refuse access to the document despite the state’s Committee on Open Government advising that the town had no legal basis to withhold the information after it was disclosed to another newspaper last week.
“If a record is disclosed to one news media organization, in my opinion it should be disclosed to any news media or for that matter any person requesting it,” opined Robert Freeman, the committee’s executive director. “Disclosure to the news media in a sense is disclosure to the world.”

Looks like the town made a boo-boo here. A 'sealed' legal document is not covered under the FOIL process. HOWEVER....because it was given to one news media outlet......it had to be given to the rest.........and now the world knows!

Does Rotterdam have a policy that require town department heads or any town employee in a position of authority to disclose physical relationships they are having with town employee subordinates?  If Rotterdam doesn't, maybe they should.  If they do, then he violated the policy.

and supposedly dating an employee in the HW dept... widower. don't believe there is a policy preventing this kind of behavior..

..but then again if there was....

what good would  it do......who let the cat out of the bag with TU  .....and why has the Gazette have a bigger story???

where is client lawyer privilege???......why did outside HR come in to investigate......that would lead to being able to FOIL

why wasn't State Police notified first......

the facts are confusing.....coverup attempted....didn't work....????

time to clean house.....other violations will come to light .....

TC has too much info at her disposal......and that's a BIG problem...
