Richard M Nixon would be too liberal for today's Republicans.
Three out of four of Nixon's Supreme Court appointments voted pro-choice, pro-privacy in Roe v. Wade.

Let me give you a definition of the word ‘liberal.’…Franklin D. Roosevelt once said…
‘A liberal is a man who wants to build bridges over the chasms that separate humanity from a better life.’

"It is a wonderful definition, and I agree with him".
( Richard Nixon)

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Richard Nixon was a liberal...Who is disputing that?

BTW...FDR redefined "liberal" and morphed it into statism

This is the 19th Cerntury definition of classical liberalism.

Classical liberalism is the philosophy committed to the ideal of limited government, constitutionalism, rule of law, due process, and liberty of individuals including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets.

No shadow, that may be YOUR view, but it wasn't the view of Nixon or FDR.
It's just one more example of how EXTREME today's Republican Party has become.

It is an example of the growing number of people waking up to the EXTREME STATIST in BOTH political parties.  The political center is no longer going to be just a different form of statism.

Exactly!  What the Republican Party WAS under Eisenhower and Nixon is nothing like the Republican Party
today.
In the 50's, 60's and 70's... Republicans supported PP, WIC and Family Planning programs.  Those Republicans
cared about the poor and those in need as well as supporting Health Care for all Americans.

The top tax rate on the richest Americans... the 1%, paid 80+% on their income, and became wealthier
even paying that rate.

Today it's the Cut & Gimme Republican party.  Cut programs for the Poor and Middle Class, and Gimme more
tax cuts for the Rich.

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Those republicans are now democrats...Case and point, Hilary Clinton.  The statists are throughout both parties.
