The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Neither, since both appeared to be hidden. Otherwise, Trayvon would not have stood his ground while on the phone with his girlfriend after she told him to run.

If Tbird's Girlfriend tells him to run... HE RUNS.  If she tells him to Jump, HE JUMPS!  If she tells him to go sit in the corner...
he does NOTHING!  (He's already hiding in the corner)

Ahh, no douchebag...If I see a gun, I'm a lot less likely to stand my ground. A nice 9mm hole in your chest tends to ruin your day!

But since you think you're such a big tough guy, let me know if you ever want to prove it...

Your point was "his girlfriend told him to run"...
A 17 year old kid being told by his g/f is not exactly a command.

In the scenario as Zimmerman portrays it... Zimmerman was following Martin... Zimmerman was the aggressor.
Yet, to read some of the posts here... a much larger man with a gun was the victim... A much smaller teenager
with an iced tea and a bag of skittles, who was being followed, was the aggressor.

No, it wasn't... My point was if Trayvon saw the gun, he would have made the decision not to stand his ground.
The part about the girlfriend (an audio witness) is that she mentioned the "telling him to run" specifically and he said he wasn't going to.

With the investigation still unfinished and many questions unresolved, you are going to have sympathy on both sides. To say the sympathy for Zimmerman even approaches the sympathy for Trayvon is laughable.
As far as physical size difference, it really isn't that important...its who gets the initial jump on who and who knows how to fight. I've seen many a short slender guy kick the crap out of someone who is taller and heavier.

One of the toughest men i know, who's past time hobby use to be getting drunk and beat up (lol) always said what he would do if he had a gun pointed at him.  Then it happend in downtown albany, he pissed his pants and handed over his wallet.  If you see a gun, you definately run.

I don't spell check!  Sorry...
If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive.

One problem with 'running from a gun' is that the bullet can run faster than you can.

If it is a paid uniformed cop looking at both of these items, he would have been justified to shoot if he/she felt threatened.  Cops lives are more valuable than a neighborhood watch patrol person.  If you have a badge and a gun and feel threatened, shooting to kill is all in a day’s work...If you are a citizen feeling threatened, you must not defend yourself against those threats,  and suppress your survival instincts and take a chance your life be taken.

Yea!  There is nothing scarier than a bag of skittles... You never know when one might hit you in the eye and ruin
your whole day!

Hindsight is 20/20.  If all decisions were made using hindsight, we wouldn't have this problem.

I'm sure that if Martin had been using 'hindsight' he wouldn't have been shot dead... he would have
stayed home.
If Zimmerman had been using 'hindsight'... I'm not sure much would change. He killed a man, no debate
there, and as yet, has not paid a price for that killing.  So far, he got away with murder... time to
write a book.

Zimmerman is walking around with a gun why?  Might want to check out the new report done by Alice Green relative to race.  Also might want to read up on the NEW JIm Crow.

Many cops get away with the same thing...Why can a government agent kill with impunity when they feel threatened but an everyday citizen can't?
