I have a problem calling it Amedore's Assembly seat -- when it actually belongs to us the voters.   We just get to decide who will occupy the seat every 2 years -- and hopefully for no more than 3 to 5 terms.

Presently, I am undecided as to whom I will be voting for in this race.

That is what the Dagostino's are saying too.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Tom Quackenbush is a candidate with character

We feel compelled to write because we are disturbed by recent mailings/ commercials that have twisted and taken Tom Quackenbush’s words out of context.
These mailings have been malicious in nature, without having the courtesy of identifying the writers. This lack of signatures indicates the writers are cowards that falsely accuse and attack Tom Quackenbush’s integrity.
We had the opportunity to personally speak with Tom Quackenbush when he was campaigning in our neighborhood. We questioned Mr. Quackenbush about his ethical and moral beliefs, as we feel these qualities are the heart of a candidate.
We will be voting for Mr. Quackenbush for the position of 111th state assemblyman, as he shares our concerns regarding ethical accountability in the handling of the sexual harassment scandal by Speaker Sheldon Silver; the college tuition for illegal immigrants bill by Speaker Silver; same-sex marriage; and the importance of bipartisanship.
We are confident that Mr. Quackenbush will represent us proudly, and not resort to the “dirty politics” of Mr. [Angelo] Santabarbara.

GOP declares victory in final NY Senate race

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Republicans have declared victory in the last Senate race that remained unresolved after November's elections. That strengthens the hand of Republicans in a bipartisan coalition that will run the chamber beginning Jan. 1.

Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos says Monday that Assemblyman George Amedore has won the 46th District race over Democrat Ceclia Tkaczyk.

The district was created by the Republicans earlier this year to help protect their majority in a state where Democrats have a nearly 2-to-1 voter enrollment advantage.

A week ago, the Republicans appeared to have lost the majority and struck a deal with the five breakaway members of the Independent Democratic Conference.

That unprecedented bipartisan coalition will control legislation, perks and committee assignments for the next two years.

but the campaign of his Democratic opponent said he’s acting prematurely.

Amedore, of Rotterdam, Schenectady County, held a 39-vote lead after ballot-counting finished at the state Supreme Court level Monday. But Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk’s campaign said she would appeal to the state Appellate Division to count hundreds of ballots that were blocked by the lower court.

Tkaczyk and Amedore are vying for the 46th Senate seat, a newly created district including all or part of five counties, including Ulster.
...
Tkaczyk’s campaign can’t file an appeal until Acting Supreme Court Judge Guy Tomlinson of Montgomery County finalizes his ruling, which is expected by the end of the day Tuesday. A school-board member from Duanesburg, Schenectady County, Tkaczyk held a slim lead on election night, but has trailed in absentee and affidavit-ballot counting.

This counting is far from over,” Tkaczyk campaign spokesman Gary Ginsburg said.

“There are still hundreds of outstanding objections that have to be ruled on by the Appellate Court.”

A few hundred paper ballots were rejected by Tomlinson for various reasons. Specifically, Tkaczyk’s campaign pointed to “hundreds of affidavit ballots that were thrown out because of minor errors” and votes that were cast early by elections commissioners as being ripe for appeal.
