ROTTERDAM – Rotterdam police are investigating burglaries involving stolen TV’s, a gaming console, small electronics and more.

During the early morning of March 5 several unlocked cars were broken into and loose change and small electronics were stolen from the Highbridge Road and Coldbrook sections of town.

At least one car had the window smashed out and a purse was taken. A license plate was also stolen from a driveway of a residence of Nicholas Ct.

The Rotterdam Police Department is also looking into the burglaries of three different homes in the Coldbrook section of town. During each of the burglaries the residents were sleeping and did not know they had been burglarized until the morning.

According to police, two large screen LCD TVs, a Play Station game console, about 30 games, a microwave oven and a Keurig coffee maker were all stolen from the residences. One homeowner reported their dogs barking around 3 a.m. and police believe they were scaring off intruders................................>>>>.......................http://wnyt.com/article/stories/s2523930.shtml?cat=300&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Buy a shotgun - shells are cheaper than the $100K Rotterdam police officer that fills out the police report.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

A police scanner would help all to understand what goes on in this town.....all is not reported.....an individual knew all this

before it hit the media.....SO, there has to be transparency....can't run the safety of the Town, like a town meeting where

you have to sign in to be heard.....

ROTTERDAM POLICE.....let's have all the news.....scum is here....and it's been here for a long time.....drugs, robberies..

the scum has CASED  our Town.....and doing it with a plan....they drive around the neighborhoods....report anything to the police.

get a dog....get security.....We are under attack from the movers and scum in the City....and surrounding area...

ROTTERDAM — Police are investigating a spate of break-ins and a car theft that occurred overnight Sunday in the town's Coldbrook neighborhood.

Three homes were burglarized while the homeowners slept, said police, adding that the victims were unaware that they had been robbed until they woke up Monday. The thieves made off with two large-screen televisions, a microwave oven, a Keurig coffee maker, a PlayStation video game system and 30 PlayStation games, police said.

The thieves also took loose change and small electronics from several unlocked vehicles, police said. One locked car had its window smashed and a purse that was inside was taken, police said.

A silver 1996 Dodge Caravan also was reported stolen from a driveway on Nicholas Court, police said. The van's license plate number is EJS-8982. Police are asking anyone who has information on the thefts to contact them at 355-7397.

Police are also investigating three home burglaries that occurred during the day Feb. 29. In those cases, the burglars, targeting homes that were unoccupied, pried open back doors and stole jewelry, laptops and cash, police said.

Oddly enough, a security company called me last week saying i won a security system, and they would like to come to my house to install it... while i understand they make money of the "monitoring", the timing was fishy!
Conspiracy!

I don't think so. It appears that the security companies just read the paper and try to sell their service to select areas that have become a victim to crime. And I heard that the monitoring charge is minimal. Don't know the exact amount tho.

Fyi if anyone is scared, seriously, you can buy fake cameras or Security signs without owning a security system....  Might be worth the small investment.
