Another study with money down the drain...

DVOR has not answer for anything....but a script prepared by another entity.

It's a dream project and won't help anything....and again.....Westcott and the other side streets will be greatly affected...

The back up now seems to to be within reasonable time...start out earlier and don't be in such a rush...LOL

IF the police station goes to Hamburg St....that will end all this....seems like that is the reason for all the hooplah...

and what's going on with that plan????...next TB meeting seems like a joke....why bother if it's for setting dates for

Parks Commission....seems like those dates have been a secret..why a resolution....can't these people communicate it???

rules rules and more rules....REGIME must think residents are idiots...   NOT

Careful planning and deep thought created it all- Rotterdam's best. People like DV except they were people with some degree of accomplishment and had real jobs during the day. lol

The real hope (based on Hack's post) is seemingly to get rid of the gas station which are both democrap supporting stooges. I expect that would provide some interesting talk in the back room- similar to the talk the democraps have with Hamburg St business people. We all KNOW the democraps are the white knights of freedom for THAT gang!

I agree. Traffic flows quite well through those 5 corners. Again....for those who think it doesn't....get out of rotterdam and schenectady county to see what traffic issues really are!!!
There are folks who come here to visit family/friends from outside the state. They burst out laughing when they hear locals complain about the traffic!!!

I'm not so sure about that.

I'll bet that if you check back when the 5 corners was created in the first place the current configuration was the result of some study too. Until the 2 lane roads are dealt with the dual round-a-bouts will only allow traffic to pass the 5 corners quicker and traffic will still back up on the 2 lane roads between the other intersections in the town.

Actually, the "5 Corners" (minus Wallace Ave) intersection was created sometime BEFORE the American Civil War ---- and was NOT the result of any DOT study because the state DOT simply did NOT exist back then.

Secondly, the study took into consideration traffic flow BETWEEN 5 Corners and 4 Corners and also along Broadway between 5 Corners and the border with the city ----- and very clearly determined that the problem is AT THE INTERSECTIONS  and very clearly came up with a plan to address/correct those problems.

You clearly are NOT interested in the FACTS and are going to disagree with anything that I post regardless of the TRUTH contained in my statements.

The FACT is that back-up of traffic is NOT within "reasonable time" standards set by the State DOT.

Building a new Police Station will NOT alleviate the traffic problem at 5 Corners --- that you believe building a new police station will solve that problem shows your lack of knowledge and comprehension to actual problem.

Finally -- the schedule of Parks & Recreation Commission meetings HAS ALWAYS been posted at Town Hall and the Senior Center -- it has NEVER been secret ... and the vote by the Town Board came about because it was decided to change the commission meetings from the 2nd to the 4th Monday of each month.   The very fact that the Town Board is adopting the meeting as part of the OFFICIAL SCHEDULE of town meetings is proof that your allegations are facetious and just another attempt to lie and distort the actual truth.

I don't know about the 5 corners roundabouts, but others in the area were found to be necessary based on projected
increases in traffic over the next ten years.

In the direction Rotterdam is headed, we'll never have to worry about that.

Box, 5 Corners is necessary -- it has been considered an "inadequate intersection" by State DOT standards for years .. actually decades.   And traffic volume is anticipated to only get heavier thus making the problem worse .

who can decide what is good and where it will be beneficial...

All kinds of studies by DOT and whoever...do not prove anything....just politicians and the such doing their job to burden

more tax and such...on the taxpayers...I may not know about a lot of things...but what I do know the study was unfounded as has

been proven by the cost....no matter what is the percentage for Rotterdam....it's way too much at this time...

Find a real job DVOR.....and stop trying to manipulate your biased way of thinking to other bloggers...

Seems you are always in denial and can never answer anything that is asked of you without a smart remark......and then

coming back with a prepared script.....

If you're going to determine anything by the way the state says it works or it doesn't, you might first want to ask another question...

HOW WELL DOES THE STATE WORK????

Maybe when the state is fixed, we'll then fix the intersection.

You are entitled to your opinion.  I am entitled to mine.   The intersection needs to be fixed -- and I like the dual roundabout proposal.  I plan to to work to encourage the plan to be implemented.  You are free to do whatever you choose on the subject.

Based on the speed at which other projects get done in town (ie; the park proposal that's taken over 20yrs, and Curry Rd. Plaza) I'm quite confident I will never see this occur in my lifetime...............good luck to the rest of you...........
