Looks like the good ole federal government auctioned off 7100 acres of Crow Creek Sioux land to pay BACK TAXES!!! This is great, box is claiming that the "red state" is what makes buffalo county poor, but the Obama federal government is taking land away from them to pay taxes. Good Job Obama government. You could even find a way to tax the poorest people in America. Thanks for opening everybody's eyes to this Box. What a cruel President you support.

IRS Auctions Off Sioux Land To Pay Back Taxes BY AHNI DEC 4, 2009 14 RESPONSES
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has auctioned off 7,100 acres of land belonging to the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe in central South Dakota, one of the most impoverished reservations in the United States.
The land was sold on Thursday in a bold but hardly shocking attempt by the IRS to recover $3.1 million in federal employment taxes, penalty charges and interest that was owed by the Tribe.
According to a recent lawsuit filed by the tribe, the IRS acted unlawfully because the land is owned by Crow Creek Tribal Farms Inc., a corporation formed under Tribal law.
The lawsuit further contends that the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) misinformed the tribe, telling them "that, because it was a federally recognized Tribe, it was not necessary to pay federal employment taxes."
“It’s very disgraceful, very shameful. It’s devastating to us,” said Tribal Chairman Brandon Sazue, who was in attendance at the auction. “Our land is never for sale.”
So, unless you have something actually to show that my post was not accurate... you admit that the poorest counties in the USA are in Red Republican states.
The state has no legal authority over the Sioux land. They deal with the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs. So to take portion of a counties population for which the state has no jurisdiction, and then use their poverty rates and make the case that it is the reflection of "Red State" government is a GROSS DISTORTION.

Yadda Yadda Yadda... lots of dodging bobbing and weaving but...

Sure, and you admit the democrats in the federal government took 7100 acres from the poorest people in America because it was prime real estate for a wind farm.

I don't know if that is true or not... that is your contention. I don't know anything about that smoke screen you are attempting to blow up everyone's butt... You can always start your own thread about that issue if you want. Changing the subject here does not add to your lack of facts on America's Poorest Counties.
I've listed my facts and my source... I've yet to hear any information that would make me think that my post is not accurate... So... Once again... Unless you have something actually to show that my post was not accurate... You admit that the poorest counties in the USA are in Red Republican states.

All it proves to me is that they would rather have rights and be poor than have to kneel down at the alter of Democrats and beg.
Really? Because the poorest counties in the country are (for some reason) in Red Republican States... That leads you to believe those poor people have some special rights, that those in the middle class or rich counties don't have??? What rights are those???

Since you listed the poorest counties per capita, why don't we list the richest counties per capita
Rank County Average Per Capita Income 1 Teton County, Wyoming $132,728 2 New York County, New York $120,790 3 Loving County, Texas $99,593 4 Pitkin County, Colorado $93,465 5 Marin County, California $91,483 6 Suffolk County, New York $91,376 7 Fairfield County, Connecticut $74,878 8 San Mateo County, California $71,753 9 Morris County, New Jersey $71,713 10 City and County of San Francisco, California $71,342 11 Somerset County, New Jersey $70,949 12 City of Alexandria, Virginia $70,632 13 Arlington County, Virginia $68,270 14 Fairfax County, City of Fairfax, and City of Falls Church, Virginia $67,909 15 Montgomery County, Maryland $67,525 16 Bergen County, New Jersey $67,125 17 Hunterdon County, New Jersey $66,449 18 Sully County, South Dakota $64,352 19 Blaine County, Idaho $64,207 20 Collier County, Florida $63,276

Although your list is slightly different than mine, it still shows a good mix of Red, Blue, and Swing States... But the Poorest 100 Counties are still the Republican Red States.

doesn't matter about the red and blue crap.....it's the same machine......

STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
Your political spin on data is exactly what makes people suspicious about data and statistics. Although I POINTED OUT that Indian rezes are the predominant reason who these counties have immense poverty, your use of the date to indicate some sort of "Republican causality" is exactly why you are using the stats to grind a political axe with absolutely no reason to look further. No thinking person could be taken in once the disinfectant of sunshine is shed on what you are spinning- which is a not so clever con job. Understanding the deeper sociological underpinnings used to be what academics did. No unfortunately the left has nothing to fall back on but twisting statistics to attempt to prove that their ideas are better- when in fact it is the ideas of the left that have caused most of this poverty.

I AGREE!!! If folks are poor....than for the most part....they are poor by choice!! They know they are poor....yes? Then they need to get up off their a$$es and move the hell out of that county or state and start creating a better life for themselves and their families!!! Isn't this country 'the land of opportunity??? Isn't that what the folks who came before us did?
Today folks are just too damn lazy!!! It's easier to beg the government (dem or rep) to take care of them! It is easier to say 'I'm poor' and accept it, than it is to actually get up off your a** and move and beg for a job instead!!
I swear that some of them actually prefer to live in squaller and piss and moan all the way to the government teet!!!
Sorry folks.......but this is a part of society that has been 'created'. They've enslaved themselves and bought the lie! Too many folks have become too damn lazy and that is just the way the government wants it!!!

There are some people that feel that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob got pissed off at the Indians for praying to the sun and the moon and took the land from them. It not really a government issue.
