You'd be surprised how much I know and from where I get my information. All of it totally legal of course. The fact is that I am a genuinely nice guy who people entrust information with AND ... I have never abused the trust by sharing confidential information with others. So nothing short of a subpoena from the courts or a direct request from the Holy Father in Rome would make me share information that I have promised to keep confidential.
Cop out excuse for not knowing info.
DV can't even address facts provided in public records!

A perfect example is your claiming that I have some secret information from the head of economic development office -- the FACT is that the information that I have is NOT secret it can be found in an ad placed by the establishment's owner and published in the Daily Gazette.
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!
Yes -- really -- bear in mind that I am always in the process of acquiring information .. so what I said then was true then and what I am saying today is also true.

AH, I understand.... You say things one time and when you contradict yourself later and it's pointed out you say that things have changed. Sounds like what I am hearing from the Political idiots running for Pres right now...."I have changed my position...and have changed it back...and have changed it again"....whatever is convenient to cover up what they said that may have caught up with them

Things have not changed -- I just have more information. And I most certainly did not change my position. You just need to accept that I am NOT going to share certain confidential information with you or with anyone else.

1-Genuinely nice guy....you are sadly out of touch with reality if you cannot see the perception of what 98% of the posts on this forum indicate about your character 2-People who entrust others with confidential information expect that confidentiality to be honored...it's called being ethical. Ethical people who honestly have confidential information DO NOT go on forums an boast about it...."that is so 4th grade..." I KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW....NAH, NAH, NAH". You are abusing the trust they have given to you...if such situation even exists...which we all highly doubt. 3-I don't want you to share any confidential information with me or anyone else, so don't come on here blowing your horn with crap like that to puff up your chest and paint yourself as someone you are not....you are so transparent, and everyone on here knows it. You just like priming the pump....must get your jollies that way. 4-You tell each of us if we cannot provide supporting evidence that you accept, then our facts are not real....then you pop off with crap like this and hide behind "confidential".....quite frankly, if you can't prove it then it ain't real either....yah, I know ....you don't care what any of us think, etc., etc. 5-We are not surprised by how little you actually know versus what you claim to have knowldge of
Now if any of that sinks in and maybe, just maybe, gets you to stop with the BS and pull your head out of your a$$, that would be wonderful. Then again, you are you and stupid is forever, so doubt you will change! HAVE A NICE DAY!

The FACT is that the restaurant ALWAYS had good food (so ignore the lies of the nayboobs) and was doing very well and developing a loyal following (so ignore the lies of the nayboobs ) and will be reopening in February.

So DV, you came on this thread and comment. Where is your answer I asked you on the thread about the city dept heads attending open houses in an attempt to attract people to buy a house in the city? Huh? Should dept heads try to get people to buy houses in a city that they---the dept heads---refuse to live in themselves?
Tell us DV, why should dept heads be exempt from living in the city? Huh?

Before I even begin, I would like to state this post is not intended to instigate negativity any further, nor is it endorsed or solicited by the owners/benefactors of the Dolce Vita.
I am both upset and aggravated by the level of maliciousness and ignorance which has been displayed in this thread. While the town motto of Rotterdam is "A Nice Place to Live", anything but that has been exemplified by a community of contributors to this thread. Randy Loren started this business back in 2009, with the intent to offer Schenectady/Rotterdam/Colonie something found no where else. The positive response which was received was overwhelming. People across the Capital Region were excited at the prospect of such a diverse and unique business model. Moving from Florida, Randy Loren hastily chose a property to revitalize, which would otherwise sit vacant and in ruin. Some of you may even remember this as the site of the old Anthony's, during Schenectady's "booming years". The business set out to renovate and remodel the building to fit it with the unique ensemble that is the personification of "Dolce Vita". After accomplishing this feat of renovation in just under 6 weeks, the Dolce Vita opened prematurely on Feb. 14th, 2009 to an astounding reception. For months following the place was packed. The Gazette positively reviewed the establishment, and the Dolce Vita soon received acclimation's in the area's Metroland.
The Dolce Vita offered to this area live shows performed by the owner Randy Loren, performances by greats such as The GTO's, Sal Cannavo, and The Joey Thomas Big Band. Those who took the opportunity to dine and enjoy an evening at the Dolce Vita understand that the true intent of the restaurant was to make people happy, to improve the quality of life here in Schenectady by offering you all a place to enjoy yourselves. What restaurant hasn't made a mistake before? And even if still unsatisfied what compensation do you receive by ignorantly bashing a dream of a fellow human for following his dream.
The reason for the closure is simply this. The owner/landlord of the former Dolce Vita property felt he would be more profitable to pursue a different venture, such as a new home to Shenanigans located already on State Street, or something similar. Randy Loren acquired a new property through nothing other than honest business, and fair trade. The move is not attributed to anything concerning taxes, government/political favoritism, or any other perpetuated lie or untruth fabricated throughout this thread.
In conclusion, if you ate there and didn't enjoy yourself, "c'est la vie"; It is Life. We all ave had a bad experience one place or another. But don't judge only on one visit, for is that the fairest policy? To those who discriminate upon the Dolce Vita based entirely on it's owner, let those who have not sinned cast the first stone. And finally, to those who are angry simply because they resent the success and positive reception of the Dolce Vita, find a new hobby.
