Why would you think it bothers him...I would assume based on his previous post, that he wouldn't bother to visit this thread.

This is so funny. As soon as it is quiet, DV pops up!

Do you think it will happen in your lifetime?

How many times can an ALLEGED businessman get scammed twice?

How come he doesn't do the research, and hire a reputable contractor for the work?    How come he REPEATEDLY makes STUPID DECISIONS?

And he wants to get the work done in trade for a few gift certificates?   Why?    Why doesn't this ALLLEGED businessman hire someoine and pay out o his own pocket?    If he doesn't have the funds in the bank, how about he go to a real bank and apply for financing?

Can you answer those questions?    Of course not, you have no business sense either.

One who has to be beggar in order to open a business is no businessman and is destined to failure, don't you agree?

Lastly DV, don't you think RL should concentrate on paying his outstanding tax warrants first?

If you notice, I had responded to a posting, and included a sentence that even DV has given up saying how wonderful the guy is..

So what happenes?   DV has rush back over and comment that RL is wonderful, and can't wait til he re-opens.

But you see, DV ONLY replies when he can provide his personal opinion.   We've never been there so we can't say whether the food was good or not.  We certainly detected a wannabee hoping to be discovered, using Ch 16 for the purpose.

But DV ABSOLUTELY REFUSES  to address the type of businessman the guy is, no knowledge of business whatsoever as is EVIDENCED by his failure to do what INTELLIGENT people do - go to a bank for financing, so the guy becomes a BEGGAR; the guy can't pay his taxes; the guy doesn't have the intelligence to research how to choose contractors.

Then the guy stares a hiring process long before he even knows IF he will reopen!!!!!!!!!!    I mean REALLY!!!!!    ANY INTELLIGENT businessman knows you do NOT make new hires wait three or four months for their job to start!!!!!!!!   Not in the kind of lowly work he would need to hire for.

Hey, here's a thought on hiring.   Hope any prospective employees check their credit records.     Employees would have had to provide their social security number on their application.    Hmmmmm

Ironic.  Consider this, they're looking for someone to come and do the services for peanuts, then they won't even get a check?  They need to take the chance that they get a chance to use the gift certificate prior to Dolce Vita closing again... that is if they even get opened.  Also, it shows that in this case, Mr. Loren is looking to get a price break, while not specifying that he is.  I mean, if you give a gift certificate for services, then you're not paying full price, unless the food that is made costs the same as what you're selling it for, then that in itself is just a bad business model.  I understand it's bartering, but really, if you can't pony up the cash at full face value, then why not try something else?  Hoping to get a new customer for life by having them come in and work on your refrigeration?  Maybe Ron can go over and do the work, or would be willing to pay face value for the gift certificates (so the refrigeration expert can actually get paid).

My son said he approached them about the work, they wanted it for next to nothing, do just enough to get it past the inspectors.

The job he wanted done was in the $4-5k range - no way would he trade it for food gift certificates on a speculation that the place would ever open, and he had no idea if he'd even LIKE the food (he's not much into the entertainment part).

Bottom line, he didn't offer to do the work on these terms.

Call me shallow but I will absolutely steer clear of this resturant just because DVOR likes and promotes them.
