Here's what I don't get....if $5k is all he needs, why not open and not do all the dance floor/stage rennovations or some other rennovations,
open the place and eventually through profits complete the rennovations?  $5k for a new location, etc., seems like small change compared
to what it costs totally.....and it's 1/3 of wht he was asking for originally.

I'd bet real money there is no re-opening planned right now ... he's seeing just how much support there is in the community for his efforts - you could measure it in a thimble.

He closed it because it was a money loser. Like Pentagon, like Wine Down, like Van Dyke I and II. Even with horrible Metrograft {the taxpayers black hole} capitalism still rules. His partners left and the customers have all gone to Brandon's on Chrysler Ave or Pasqualina's/Ritz Terrace on Van Vranken Ave. Went to Ritz Terrace last night and both places are packed. The parking lots on both sides of Van Vranken are filled to capacity. They don't need no Metrograft pay to play.

When you play with the Metroplex, better make sure you get your money and run. CardioMag left with millions, Parker Inn..well we don't know where their Plex money is, Cornells and the Van Dyke (the biggest joke as the old owner left with over $300K of Plex funds and THEN the Plex gave MacDonald $175K low/no-interest loan to buy back

The only thing the Plex can do? They keep putting out their own fires!! They create a mess, hand out money without any rhyme or reason and then cover their a**es with fake job creation numbers and bailouts.

When are the seven economic agencies leaving? It can't come soon enough!

Well, remember he claimed that IF he chose to give, he would do it "privately"    Of course, as he is a government official, the law subjects him to financial disclosure.   So nothing will be a secret

Hello To Everyone,
We are letting you know that unfortunately we did not reach our Funding Goal on Kickstarter, however many chose to send funds directly to us to support our project,
If anyone still would like to Help us with our project, we would appreciate that greatly!
We are now moving into phase 2 of our renovation and plan to open March 13, however we still need help to complete our project,

From RLDOLCEVITA WEBSITE:

Homeonwers in the city have lots of projects too, they have projects they NEED to do on their houses, projects they NEED to do because the city is ordering them to do it.   The homeowners need money too, they can't be giving handouts to businesses who want money -- if businesses don't have the money too bad.   But in the city, the dems steal from the taxpayers to give handouts to the wealthy & politically connected for downtown.   And then you have other failing businesses like this one who are failing and look for other ways to get handouts.

Businesses cut expenses or raise prices.   If that doesn't work, they fail, too bad, means there's no market for them.

Again.............I really don't care who 'personally' gives them $$$$$$$$$...............as long as it isn't the taxpayer that is being 'forced' through taxation to support it.

Businesses need to sink or swim according to the market. And many businesses are feeling the 'pinch' right now because of this recession. Some will succeed and some will fail...........that is the 'real economic world'.............not the 'illusion' that METORPLEX/GILLEN is trying to portray!!

Although there are many curious  folks wondering why only 'certain' restaurants are being propped up  by METROPLEX/GILLEN, while others are left to fail! hmmmmm

imho

You don't even know whether this businessperson even approached Metroplex or whether Metroplex has approached the businessperson.  You and the other nayboobs are talking out of your asses on this subject --- which is what you folks do all the time.

If you do your homework, you will find that the METROPLEX/GILLEN has approached and made deals with most of the businesses that have landed in schenectady. Did Marcella's approach METROPLEX/GILLEN when they were the first to mention that they were going to move out of schenectady county?
