It's just over investing in the sh!thole rotterdam.
But perhaps if/when it closes, and we hope it doesn't, the plex will buy the building/property, cvs will move to the 4 corners andthe  corners will give birth to a round-a-bout or some other new design!

Don't buy into the rumor mill of Rotterdam.  I have been fortunate to know Evan and his family for many years.  Tops Diner has been a staple of Rotterdam since I was a child and will continue to flourish in the future.  I was fortunate enough to be employed by Evan when I had to sell my business due to a divorce.  The food business is a very difficult and demanding business.   Evan Christou and his family are the most genuine people out there and they do not deserve the negative rumors that I personally have experienced through my business closing.  Please continue to support Tops.  Everyone has experienced difficult times and it is with the support and compassion of the public that you hold your head high and maintain your reputation and beliefs and look forward to better economic situations to sustain your business.  Tops shall remain the focal point of Rotterdam if the community continues to support this establishment and refrains from listening to here say.  Best wishes to you Evan.  You deserve another 50 successful years!

Of course it's a rumor. And I don't think anyone wants TOPS to close! And you are correct, they have great food and great service and they are nice folks. Nothing negative....just folks talking on a message board about a rumor they heard just like they do in the donut shops, and neighbors over fences, and folks in the grocery line, and folks having a beer. Only this is open 24/7!

by the way......pizza and wings are GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!!

I went there just the other day.  First time since way before they remodeled it. Wow, it looks great, the staff were awesome, the food stunk.  The Mac and cheese looked and tasted like it had gone cold and they reheated it.  The other food on the plate wasn't too much better.  The place was almost empty and staff were standing around at the register trying to look busy.  Let's state all the facts though it was around 3 not exactly prime time but even the Blue Ribbon has a higher percentage of folks there that time of day then Top's showed the day I was there.

The employees there are top notch attending to the customer. The best I have see in a eating establishment of that type anywhere around.  This shows me just how nice the owners must be in hiring that quality of wait staff.

There is no way that place is going to recoup what was spent to remodel, just isn't going to happen.  If folks are saying they are going belly up it makes sense to me.

Me's gonna have to duck again.  Most likely the rocks that are gonna be coming my way.

My family and I have always had great food and great service at Tops Diner.

It never fails that the nayboobs have to inject their nastiness and negativity into EVERY topic.  They know where the exits are -- and I can assure them that MANY, MANY folks in town would be quite happy if the nayboobs packed up and  hopped the next box-car out of town.

Not all people are like minded. Nor should they be. Just because someone has an opposing view....does not make them negative nor nasty. It just means they have an 'opposing opinion/perception/experience'.

Trying to silence folks from voicing their perceived opposing opinions, seems to be the sad rule these days. In this country, EVERYONE is has the right to free speech.....agree with it or not!
