Just watched the replay of the 1/11 meeting on Channel 18.   Wow, during Privilege of the Floor, Joe V (former Rep Town Board candidate) did a superb job of representing the residents with his comments.  He asked that the opportunity for Privilege of the Floor be moved back to the end of meeting so the residents have the ability to comment "after" the board conducts its business.  He also questioned why Bob G's concerns and questions during the Organizational Meeting were ignored and not answered.  My synopsis doesn't do his comments justice...you can catch it again on Channel 18 on Sunday at 3pm.    Go Joe!   It's just unfortunate that more residents of Rotterdam didn't support him in the election...if they did, they would have had a voice in their local government.   I sincerely hope that Joe remains interested and active in our town govt.

then rotterdaminas should stand behind Joe V. and email, snail mail, write letters to the editor, stand up at the meetings and echo the same sentiments as Joe V. if they agree with it.

If the rotterdam tb continues to keep POF at the beginning of the meetings....and makes everyone 'sign up to speak' first....then I would STRONGLY suggest an alternative for speaking at those meetings........write letters to the editor via gazette/spotlight!! You will also reach a much larger audience.

Circumvent the system by using other means to let your voices be heard! This present rotterdam town board is obviously trying to manipulate, silence and control the meetings in an effort to cover their enadaquencies and political/personal agendas.

There is adequate time and opportunity for residents to comment.   The agenda has been posted online for a few days -- so everyone has an opportunity to prepare their thoughts and comments.

The advantage of having the public comment privilege of the floor at the BEGINNING of the meeting is that this is when attendance is at its greatest (as many people leave during the meeting after the item(s) that they are interested in are either presented and/or voted on) and this is when all of the attendees (the board and the public) are freshest and most alert,

Bottomline -- some people are trying to create an issue where NO ISSUE exists.

Maybe the town residents should be made aware that Mr. Vellano along with  other members of the Rotterdam Republican Party are the posters responsible for the vulgar and negative posts on this website.

HIT AND RUN.....AFRAID OF HIS OWN SHADOW.....WIMP

Sorry DVOR .....your reporting to the REGIME is not doing any good.....the residents are ready to stand

up to the bullying that is being attempted.....and the secrets and plotting.....

The REGIME does not want to know the truth because they can't handle the truth...

Questions ???   but no answers...only to confuse...but the residents are not buying it...

You DVOR are dead wrong.....and you are not the spokesperson for the REGIME...

you head committees and that's all.....whatever you say here you have been coached...you report all

to the REGIME + ONE....you hide behind what you think is your power...when you have none at all.

Your threats and foul mouth and everything else you blog is nothing....so stop your lectures and

what you may think is intimidation....it doesn't work in this Town...

The REGIME is only an elected voice of the people....but NOW the people want to speak and after

all this is a democracy.....

I am not the spokesman for anyone but myself -- furthermore, it is YOU and your croed that has the foul mouths and makes the threats.   YOU are the ones who are constantly lying and making nasty comments about others.  YOU are the ones who keep accusing me of having other usernames -- which I don't -- for all I know it is YOU who post as Hamburg and the others.

And YES -- this is a democracy .. more correctly a democratic republic ... and my opinions are just as valid as yours --- and in my opinion ..  the 4 minute per person privilege of the floor at the BEGINNING of the meeting is a good idea  and it is perfectly consistent with both democracy and the letter of the law.  If you don't agree ... that is your right .. but at least try to disagree by being civil and somewhat coherent.

This is the most tyrannical regime ever in place in the town- EVER. There is no doubt in people's minds.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Rotterdamians are gonna git 'steam rolled' with this bunch!!!

Looks like this 'confidential secretary' had alternative personal/political motives of her own.

She will fit in well with her 'new found flip flop'!!

Some folks that voted for her for town clerk are now glad she didn't win!

Oh well.................as rotterdam turns!
