Separate thought... Have a friend who lives in Glenville. Their taxes are now over $10k, and they may move to Saratoga County where the taxes would be like 60% less for comparable property.
This is unsustainable. How these progressives cannot see that, is beyond me. Hire more people, build more county buildings.

Anyone who moves from Schenectady to Malta would pay less than half as much for the same valued homes.
Plus, a home in Malta valued at $150,000 is probably worth $150,000.
In Schenectady, a government determined home, valued at $150,000 is actually likely to sell for barely over $100,000.
Saw an article in the TU a while ago, had a house in Schenectady GE plot, assessed around 375k, house in Saratoga at 735k, taxes in Schenectady were around 18k, Saratoga around 6.5k..Don't know if that included our fees . That is insanity. There is no money left in this city, all goes for wages benefits and pensions. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the Mayor's magic bullet next budget
