How is it our population has dropped, these agencies have gotten HUGE, and there is still not enough "help" for the 'needy'? Anyone with a brain should be able to figure this one out. It is sad that the Tea-Party/New Alliance Republicans have chosen to so vociferously attack the poor and less fortunate.  Someone should force them to spend a winter in unheated shack .. with only some stale bread and water to eat every day.

The 'honest' less fortunate do not trespass or break and enter into someone else's property!! That IS illegal and is breaking the law. The 'less fortunate' are not above the law.

DV, the "no new taxes" people are the ones who are opposed to increasing taxes on the less fortunate while the rich, e.g., the millionaires downtown are NOT paying taxes or very little, and then, these tax exempt millionaires are not helping the less fortunate in the least.

The average TAXPAYER is paying the taxes of the millionaires AND going out and volunteering and donating to the less fortunate.

Tell us DV  what have the tax exempt downtown done at Thanksgiving??????    What dinner for the poor did fat Morris put on for the poor in the city?    Did Villa Italia pass out free bread for the homeowners who pay the bakery's property and school taxes?    What kitchen appliances has Marcella's donated to lower income people in the city when they are cited with code violations?  

Christmas is coming.   Tell us DV, is fat Morris giving away free tickets to the Nutcracker to those who pay his taxes?    Huh DV?????   Well, got an answer DV?????    Is fat Morris giving tickets to even the children of the people who pay his taxes?

And about yourself. where were you during the Concern for the Hungry volunteer work over those several days of prep?   Where were YOU when average Schenectady people were helping the poor at the Bethesda House dinner, the dinner by the city mission, and the Equinox dinner?
