Oh what a genius. Stealing money from special districts to cover payroll. Any financial genius would do that!

Any 'incompetent financial genius' would do that!

And we hear at the donut shop that he's a cops best friend during negotiations!!

A couple buys a house for $6700 fifty years ago when they first married. Now they are retired and living on Social Security only when the REVAL comes along. It's pretty clear that their property is going to be under valued just by the fact that no REVAL has been done in over 50 years. The question was who gets hurt?? Answer the poor frail elderly couple who sees their taxes go through the roof who has not enough income to keep up with the taxes. DV you are just spinning your usual BS to make your DEM handlers look good.

That's where he gets his CONS credentials. He sure ain't a fiscal CONS or the City wouldn't be in the fiscal ruin it is in. Short $200,000 per week because of his "leadership". You get the government you deserve. Keep voting straight DEM moron! And town home sales dropped 31% last year. No wonder.

John Paolino will help the team put together a 5 year plan that will control spending --- and controlling spending is one of only two ways to keep property taxes from rising.   The other way is expanding the tax base (total property tax value) of the taxing district/area -- and Metroplex/County Economic Development, the RIDA and the Re-UNITE Rotterdam team is hard at work putting plans for that side of the equation together.

Like he did in the City? ROTFLMAO!! 5 year plan? You sound like Stalin in the old Red Russia days. The town 5 year plan will work as good as the City's and Lenin's. Like every good local DEM he understands the importance of high taxes.

I have nothing but the highest respect and admiration for John Paolino.   He was a great Town Supervisor and I have always greatly valued his wisdom/advice.

A house is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it.  I bought my house approximately 15 years ago for a price that I and the seller thought was a fair price. The town now says that my house is worth more, only due to the fact that the parties (notice, I'm not just saying one) that have power at the state and federal levels have decided to do so much to devalue the dollar that my house is now "worth" significantly more... not that I could actually get the price that they are telling me the house is worth.  Fact is, I still would only pay the price my house was worth that many years ago, and I couldn't afford to pay any more with all the rampant spending that the parties in power have done, at ALL LEVELS.  My house isn't worth more, the dollar that you are comparing it to is worth that much less.

Sadly you are also paying taxes on a house that is way over valued and since the REVAL was done housing values have dropped like a stone.

John may well be the very best thing to ever happen to Rotterdam -- that is until the Magnificent Seven plus Diane rolled into office with a very resounding victory I might add -- making Rotterdam the luckiest Town in America!

It is the job of the Town Assessor to constantly monitor housing values and make those adjustment.   BTW -- Supervisor Tommasone REFUSED the $70,000 a year state grant that would have assisted Rotterdam in keeping the valuation up to date.  So in a very real sense - the bad management practices of Supervisor Tommasone is hurting hurting Rotterdam taxpayers - in a number of different way - even to this day.

The renaissance continues-for foreclosure attorney's, moving van companies and title companies. City property owners got another lump of coal from this fiscal incompetent of his way out the door.
