ROTTERDAM
Lawsuit: Schalmont principal assaulted boy

BY MICHAEL GOOT Gazette Reporter

A Rotterdam parent has sued the Schalmont Central School District, claiming his son’s middle school principal physically assaulted him.
The lawsuit, which was fi led by Brian Whitaker Sr. in Schenectady County earlier this month, claims that Schalmont Middle School Principal Michael Kondratowicz assaulted the child — then 12 years old — on Jan. 27, 2011.
The incident caused the child to suffer physical injuries, for which he is receiving treatment, according to attorney Daniel P. Maloy of the DeLorenzo Law Firm.
“We are asserting a claim of assault and a claim of negligence against the school district,” Maloy said.
He did not want to discuss extensive details but did say that the child was in class at school in the middle of his normal day and then was taken out of the classroom by the principal.
It was then that the alleged attack occurred.
There was no justification for the physical contact, according to the attorney.
“We believe it to be a gross injustice on the part of the school district and the principal to allow that to happen,” he said.
The parents are seeking monetary damages. .....................>>>>...................>>>>......................................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01004&AppName=1

This lawsuit was bound to happen sooner or later.

The kids are not the only bullies......Teachers are  big offenders.   and their behavior is something to be
desired.

On the flip side.....many kids today are out of control and there is very little a teacher or school system can do when theydo not have the support from the absentee parents! It is the 'adults' that have failed these kids in all aspects of their lives. From their parents to their teachers, to the cops to the government and yes even their church!

There is more than enough blame to go around.

I'm not helping your bratty kid........it's YOUR job to keep them in line.....society/along with the teachers unions have kind of made student behavior their 'podium puck' for contract basis......although I am on the side that teaching
being mostly a 'womans' realm(because we let it and promote it) doesn't mean women will be 'mom' at school.....same thing with nursing.....I'm a nurse but having that title doesn't make me in charge of your F'EN laundry......

working women also tend to make society more socialist.....ie: where do the kids go when mom at work, some mom's dont have to work but do and some have to work......hence WIC/WELFARE......

I guess we'll never know about this particular case.....

We got plenty of smacks when we waz kidz. Teachers and principals with paddles, punches in the shoulder, head locks, whatever it took to keep us boys in line. We never told our parents. THAT was considered a no-brainer. Why get a second smack when we got home?
