Well, the 2 main things that I remember from last night is that the CVS was voted down, not going to planning commission, and the public hearing on the budget has been pushed back to November.  I don't think this includes the public hearing for the overriding of the tax limit.

Hopefully CVS will come back with a BIGGER and BETTER plan for a new store at 4 Corners.   There are MANY people in Rotterdam who depend on CVS for their medicines and this is an AWESOME location for it.

no....they pay electric bills there....and there's mail order or delivery.....dont worry the system will spread our asses out so the 'pharmacies' will share in the sandbox......

we dont NEED CVS.......we need style/class/ raised bar.......CVS can bite me and so can their plastic milk jug style.....

have you stocked up on prevacid/omeprazole? you're gonna need it in the next 5 years just to stomache the sh!t coming down that Atlas Shrugged railway, and they want us all to be the furnace stokers

it was a packed house

meeting lasted about 2 hrs

FEMA was there - told everyone who had flood damage at rotterdam sq mall office,  this office is market driven so donot delay - you may file an appeal there also
the max grant is $30,200

residents of Rotterdam Jct were there

they came with fire in their hearts

FDG stated at the "townhall meeting" in the jct that he would look into a federal program and at wednesdays meeting he was clueless to the fact he had made the statment in the jct

we heard that RPD issued evacuation orders to some residents of the jct(high ground) first  and those of the jct(much lower ground) hours later

other residents of the jct asked about the details of tax payment extensions as they didnot want to wreck their credit rating- on one had accurate info and that they(assessor) would look at it and post the info on the towns web site or mail - to which the residents replied  - those are two things we dont have - post it at the fire house

Chief Shawn Taylor spoke to the board on the subject of adding money to the budget to pay to repair town drainage pumps and to get the drainage info updated due
to changes in the landscape from the flood

residents of lawndale attended
great arguments brought forth
one resident stated 4 corners would be a great location for a coffee house - from the back of the room we heard  starbucks, moes, and others
one resident stated rotterdam's own actions, failling to enforce NYS building codes created the 4 corners issue

HB and MV came to a meeting

FDG's chearleaders were there Mr DellaVilla and Mr Lucia

Mr Lucia  -  stated he works 200hr/wk and cant afford any more taxes - note there are only 168hours in a week

Mr DellaVilla - spoke about the shrinking fund balance

research shows both speakers are late on their taxes and are they are users of the fund balance - ie we pay their taxes for a year

Nicki asked is the agenda the Supervisor's Agenda - to which the reply was yes

to which Nicki connected the dots that FDG put resolution 270.11 - not any of the board members

to which the comptroller responded thet 270.11 is part of the process

just a note  - it is interesting that homeowners who's homes are non livable are concerened that they a properly paying their taxes and those who are business owners enjoy using the peoples money as a one or two year loan that requires no credit check

Frank Del Gallo and Bob Godlewski has NO answers for the poor people of the Junction -- 5 weeks AFTER the disaster and these two are still sitting around with their thumbs ups their asses ... and no idea what to do.

Hint - why don't you actually show up at a meeting with the county, state and federal people?   why don't you pick up the phone and call the appropriate people and get answers ?    why don't you actually work WITH the people at ALL levels of government who are busy out there actually helping the people in the Junction?

It seems that Mr. Lucia needs a math lesson and Mr. DellaVilla needs to get a clue!

Mr. DellaVilla and Mr. Lucia are sadly misinformed and are simply try to impede the progress that the Reunite Rotterdam Team is known for. I would suggest that both of them should recogognize that their businesses do not have a "too-high" tax problem, but a revenue problem.....

If either of these individuals would get off their as*es and roll up their sleeves -- and WORK to get more customers then they would be able to pay their taxes so that the community can make the needed investments in youth, parks and seniors..Should they not be able to turn their businesses around so that paying taxes in not an issue.. then I suggest both of them go for a ride with Mr. DelGallo, Mr. Godlewski, and the Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity on the Titanic. The Reunite Rotterdam Team will have a plan in place to help struggling businesses on January 1, 2012. Small business either need to progress and get with the program....or be prepared to be shuttered......there will be many new businesses who will WANT To come to Rotterdam and will not whine and bi*ch about the taxes they NEED to pay!

Well allow me to set straight something- (By the way DVOR- nice attempt) THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH TRUCKS TO PICK UP ALL THE DEBRIS THAT WAS GENERATED BUT MOST OF THAT CHARGE IS TO TAKE THE STUFF IN AT THE TRANSFER STATION. DVOR MIGHT NOT KNOW THIS BUT DEBRIS AND TRASH DOES NOT MAGICALLY DISAPPEAR ONCE IT IS LOADED ONTO A TRUCK BY THE MOVEMENT OF A MAGIC WAND. IT NEEDS TO BE HAULED SOMEWHERE AND SOMEONE MUST BE PAID TO TAKE IT!

The town took out 550 tons of debris and the city took out only 200 tons of debris BUT THE TOWN HAD TO DISPOSE OF 750 TONS TOTAL AT THE TRANSFER STATION OWNED BY THE CITY OF SCHENECTADY! THEY DON'T "MULCH" THAT KIND OF TRASH SO THE TOWN HAD TO PAY TO GET RID OF IT!

So the charge is to not only haul SOME of the crap away but it is to ACCEPT ALL OF IT!

IF DVOR IS PROPOSING THAT THE TOWN NOT USE THE CITY TO ASSIST HAULING THEN THE CHOICE WOULD HAVE TO BE MADE TO EITHER LEAVE THE FESTERING CRAP IN THE JUNCTION OVER A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME OR TO TELL THE REST OF THE TOWN THERE WOULD BE NO LEAF, BRANCH AND YARD WASTE PICKUP UNTIL THE TASK IS FINISHED.

I CAN'T FATHOM HOW THE DEMOCRAPS WILL FLOAT THAT PLAN. THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY TRUCKS, AND SO MANY HOURS IN A DAY. IS IT BASICALLY, DVOR- THAT YOU HAVE NO CONCEPT OF PHYSICAL WORK AND TIME MANAGEMENT OR ARE YOU JUST BEING YOUR REGULAR OLD LIAR SELF????

Joe - I know more about the situation than you think and there are certain things that Longo and DelGallo DID NOT do that jacked up the cost for the city to not only haul but to accept the waste.   That is why we need to replace BOTH  Longo and Del Gallo ... and put people in those two positions that know what they are doing.

Well, it is apparent that the rotterdam democops are split and falling apart. And it all started when they took advantage of FDG!Two years ago they were politically motivated for all of the wrong reasons. Running out of options, they sought out someone they thought would do their bidding by pulling puppet strings! SURPRISE!!! Agree or not...like it or not....fdg IS the super for rotterdam and will clearly NOT walk in lock step with the party bosses! He has a mind of his own. And after all, isn't that why the democops endorsed, supported and campaigned for him just 2 short years ago?

It's the CLASH OF THE ROTTERDAM DEMOCOP TITANS!!!!

I did some math. Three out of the Five (3/5) of the town board are made up of democraps that are in line with the party. Four out of four (4/4) county legislators on a 13/15 total legislature are also democraps. Why can't these "heroes" of yours get the answers? Why aren't THESE heroes of yours doing the work of the people and HELPING them? Because in other posts you have said that the supervisor is only one of five, and he does not have the sole power on anything...so please enlighten us.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The County has been in the Junction since DAY #1 meeting with the residents and answering the questions.  Call the County Manager and any of our 4 County Legislators -- and they will answer your questions.

Heck - they even gave Frank DelGallo the answers to the questions that he was asked but claimed he doesn't have the answers for.     The FACT is that DelGallo has not made any effort to work with the county or state people --- heck, DelGallo didn't even make it to Rotterdam Junction until  5 DAYS AFTER THE DISASTER HAPPENED ... and he certainly found time to take a vacation in September ... but somehow can't find the time to call the county or the state and start working with them.
