Well, time to cut.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Finally.....serious....let's see if it sticks......

now THIS is where volunteers come into play....anyone want to explain this to McCarthy?

Programs don't have to be cut.....just downsized.........

It's the community that needs to understand that it is time to stop all the waste.....people in positions they are
not qualified for....and the time for "favors" to be over.....that is the waste....
and DIVERSITY......

Land of "OZ" to be watered down....and it's about time.....FDG doing his job and taking charge as it should be...

Get rid of the "cronies" that have led this Town down this road.....that's all that is seen....pointing fingers....no accountability....someone takes charge and everyone complains......sit back...relax.....and let the Town come
back...realize that it is hard to cut back....but who hasn't these days.....it is not a punishment...it is reality....

I haven't reviewed the budget, but someone told me the animal control officer received a raise (after getting more money on Jan. 1 of this year), and that the custodian received a raise.  Doesn't this contradict the above??

I don't think it would......the Control Officer is busy more than weekdays...but called out on week-ends....after
hours for dogs, cats.....wild animals, etc.,   at one time money allotted for this position was way more...will check to see how much.....and, he has had more wild animals than not....it's not an easy job...then has to take  animals into "custody" to the animal shelter....it is being over-run with discarded pets as well....Schdy takes
them to Glenville and that is becoming overcrowded, as Schdy has no animal shelter....and Schdy has not
intention of having a shelter of their own...

Taking care of animals and see that no matter what...., they get taken care of, as well as protecting our community against attacking animals.....eg., PIT BULL ATTACK IN SCHENECTADY.

It takes  vigilance.  and love of animals (domesticated and wild) to be able to perform this job seriously and responsibly....A thankless job that has been critical to some that don't appreciate this job being done.

Find another position to pick apart...like the too many clerical positions ....hour lunches...copuntry club atmosphere.

The summer programs will be restored --- and eventually we will have year-round recreational and community programs for people of ALL ages.

The programs will be funded --- one way or the other -- that why the Parks & Recreation Commission is sponsoring various community events to raise funds.   The community will restore what Frank Del Gallo and Bob Godlewski are trying to destroy.

Frank and Bob are not destroying anything.  They are responding to the economic reality of not just Rotterdam but also the national and global economy.  People have lost their retirement savings over the last 3 years.  Savings rates are at a fraction of 1 percent, and inflation is quickly on the rise.  The stock market is swinging violently up and down.  Most residents won't even shed a tear with the elimination of a summer program.

Frank DelGallo and Bob Godlewski didn't bother to consult with department heads, their fellow council members  or any other experts on the matter.   It is obvious the two don't know how to lead and certainly do not know how to govern a town ...  after December 31, 2011 ..  they will be gone.

VOTE  YES ON THE DISTRICT #5  REFERENDUM

Consult what board members?  Wayne Calder, Nicki DiLeva, and Matt Martain?  Two of the three people that submarined them during last budget.  Those board members can do the same thing they did last year and propose a counter budget that will RAISE taxes and maintain the services.  They have the votes, they can pass it 3 to 2.  I'd LOVE to see it during this election year.  Wayne and the Democrats can run on RAISING TAXES to pay for the services.  GOOD LUCK!!!

All I will say is that the Parks and Recreation Commission will work and fight to save the summer program and the programs at the senior center  --- and we will succeed in restoring them  AND we will eventually succeed in expanding the recreational and community programs.
